Re: toolposts
I have a V10P. I was considering changing the base under the compound slide to lower it down. I would very much like to change to a quick change toolpost, but the AXA (100) series QCTP are too high.

Re: toolposts
I was just looking at this. It looks like the it would work, if we could do something about the diameter of the handwheel on the compound. If you lower the compound much the handwheel is going to

Re: toolposts
I like your idea of removing the compound slide for the QCTP. That makes things cleaner to install the QCTP. Any recommendations on where to buy an AXA (100) QCTP in Ontario, Canada at a reasonable

Add-ons to the V10P
I am thinking of changing the start - stop & maybe the forward - reverse to a lever on the carriage. Has anyone done this? I would like to share ideas. Also, I would like to add a brake? Anyone have a

Re: Upload of files
Since I'm waiting for the file anyway, you could email it to me and let me fight with it for awhile. I should be able to figure out something. My mailbox can handle the file size, even if yahoo can't.

Ok I have sent the file to you by pm. See what you can do with it, I only got about 8% compression with winzip, seems like there is no problem uploading files around the 1.5Mb size but these 4Mb babes

super11.....excess V10P?
My long quest for a super-11 has finally ended. I managed to get a pristine unit indirectly from a machine-shop that closed. When I finally get it up and running I will probably be parting with my

Re: super11.....excess V10P?
Would this be the recent Ebay machine from Indiana? I'm currently sorting through an almost new 11 from a public school. Seriously well built machine. Makes my old 9x20 and Atlas 12x36 seem like toys.

Illinois. The machine is pristine. It came with a 3 jaw. and that is about it. It must have had a bunch of other stuff that is lost amongst the boxes... The guy sent me boxes of random lathe parts;

Here is a QC tool post that looks like it would fit: http://www.brassandtool.com/Toolpost.html Though I am not sure how "Quick" it is given that you use a wrench. Even the blurb says it fits the V10

I looked at that VFD unit. Pretty reasonable cost @235.00 I was thinking of getting a Westinghouse unit as I have a 1hp unit already and figured on making use of already having beaten the learning

Re: super11.....excess V10P?
The short version: Bypass all the switches, wire the VFD outputs directly to terminals 1, 2 and 3 in the motor junction box. Leave 4, 5 and 6 unconnected. This is the low speed side of the motor. At

Re: super11.....excess V10P?
Check the maximum amp setting on the 1 hp. If it will do 4.7 amps, you can use it temporarily to put power to your new toy. Mine is running on my 1 hp mill drive temporarily. I'd use the 2hp long term

Sorry, I don't have a S11, but I do have some experience with the Bison 5C chuck on the V10P. I use the screw on adapter plate. Instead of making everything a line to line fit and worrying about the
