Count me in
Hi Barrie. Thanks for approving me! If anybody in the wider world is reading this, the previous Super11 group disappeared. According to yahoo, this was at the behest of the moderator; this is

Re: toolposts
I thought that some of the emcos came with Dickson (sp??) toolpost. Which I think were made in England. At least this was what I had been told by some guy at Blue Ridge Machinery.

Hi group...new here
I have always liked the older Emco lathes. I currently own a Compact 5, Unimat 3, and an F1 mill. I started the group emcof1mill. Anyway, I'm in the market for a Maximat 7, with inverted v-ways. If

Leak (?) in feed gear box
I've had my lathe (V10P) for about 3 months. In getting it up and going I noted that the feed gear box was empty of lubricant. I filled it with some 140wt lube. Now every time I visit my lathe I note

Re: Leak (?) in feed gear box
Almus How much oil did you put in the gearbox?, mine is at a level where the bottom two gears are about a 1/4 imersed in oil, and I dont remember the oil being 140wt either, I seem to remember that I

Re: Leak (?) in feed gear box
I think that I overfilled my gear box; this is the "Norton" qc gearbox not the head stock. My manual specs 140wt lube for threading/feed gear box and I think 20wt for the head stock. The head stock

Re: Leak (?) in feed gear box
Almus, I just went through this exercise. I have a V13 and the manual calls out Mobile DTE Light for the gear box. This is a European standard so I called Chevron to get the US equivalent for the gear

Re: toolposts
I have run into the toolpost problem too. The compound is just too tall for a nice quick change post. I have a Harding L18 dovetail tool post that I thought would be just perfect. As it turned out, I

Re: Count me in
Desperately waiting for a copy of the super 11 service parts manual. Does anyone know how to fabricate a key for the super 11 cabinet locks, or have some good pics of one? wrote:

Re: Count me in
If you find one let me know. Is yours locked shut? I have two cabs (for c8 and V10p) and they are open..but no key so they kept swinging open till I put some magnets on them -A

I remember from the old group that there was a link to a mix for matching the paint. Does any body know it? Thanks -A

They are locked shut. My vivid imagination presumes they are full of really good stuff. :)
