Re: November Veterans Day activities
Honestly, I will beg out also. With ADSB able to track most aircraft, without FAA approval or a permit to do so I think in today's environment you'd be rolling the dice on such taking a chance on an infraction or worse. They might think it's a terrorists activity and send f15's.? My 2c. Sorry Ed times have changed. Mike On Mon, Oct 21, 2024, 12:12?PM Frank Longaker via <frank=[email protected]> wrote:

I was told the 12th on a Tuesday. Not sure if this is an event. There are minimum altitudes to be aware of. Either way those involveded should be comfortable with formation flying unless there is a different plan. FYI Bob and Anne are doing
this but will not fly with a group. That is understandable given logistics. Needs discussion.

Re: Finally heard from the FAA Medical
Yes get your 3rd class. You will have held a medical, then you are eligible for Basic Med. That is the way I read this. I do not see basic med as a class of flight physical as it has its own limitations. Medical certification is technically challenging in itself. Re: Finally heard from the FAA Medical
Hi Ann, You are correct that a medical certificate is needed prior to obtaining Basic Med. I have not held a medical certificate before. However, as I read the letter, it seems the letter authorizes the AME to issue the Class 3 Medical certificate 'on the spot' assuming they determine I am fit to fly.? I find this rather unexpected so I contacted the AOPA* Medical consultant I have been working with the last 2 years to get her take on this. In any case, I am operating under the assumption that this is a legitimate practice.? *Yes, I just found out yesterday that EAA also has FAA medical consultants as I read through my EAA 'Welcome Packet'. Cheers, Mike

So the safety meeting on Wednesday evening focuses on class C airspace. The tower supervisor is coming and will discuss ATC expectations and routine. ?I think she is willing to answer questions. There will be a give away or two. ?I am not sure but believe wing¡¯s credit will be offered by RIC FSDO. ?Th presentation starts at 6.
