Yes, there are automated regression tests.

I am attaching a photo of my CM-108 key, because a picture is worth a thousand words

there I want to build another one and I have no audio ???

I don't think it's a counterfeit, it's written CM-108 on the chip

I have a few sections in my doc starting at that should help here to test your CM108 sound device with using standard sound tools, etc.? Give that a try and report back if you get it working.

Building on Mac

I was reading the user guide and it says to use the macports versions of coreutils, portaudio and cmake. Apparently coreutils didn't work out of the box and macports was needed.

When I tried building it on my machine, without the macports versions (instead using brew install cmake and brew install portaudio) the makefile built direwolf fine, I can build and run it (but I haven't had a chance to fully test it)

Are there some tests I can do to check for regressions? I see there are some test scripts, are these sufficient to test it?

In addition, the document recommends building with +universal, so we can make both 32 and 64 bit versions of the software, it looks like only coreutils offers a universal variant and for modern macs 32 bit programs won't run at all ()

Thanks for the information.? Serves me right for getting 2 radios and setting-up a node all at once.? Following the directions in the APRS supplement, I added another group: NWS* and made it active.? Hopefully, I'll see my NWS alerts.? If so, I'll do same with the FTM400.? I need to spend more time with filtering, in general.? Lots to learn.

Your FT5D filters messages to be displayed.
The default is to see only messages addressed to your specific station.
There is a setting to allow other message groups to be displayed.
You need to configure it to allow bulletins with a prefix of NWS.
See the section called "Filter setting for messages received" on page 35 in the FT5D "Instruction Manual (APRS Edition)".

Kenwood has similar functionality called "Group Filter."
