running local rat proxy not working?
I know this is an old subject, but it is beating me about the head and shoulders.
I have the d-rats package installed on debian-7 and want to run a local proxy via the internet. (1) router set to forward tcp/udp 9000-9005 to local ip server (2) proxy setup to use k3mmb.shacknet.nu:9000 (k3mmb-11) (3) client on another maching set up to access k3mmb-11 ?can not get connected. Errono 110 - time out. I know this is a simple thing, but it is driving me nuts any suggestions to fix a users mistake? 73 de mike |
开云体育If your Linux machine is running a firewall try temporarily turning it off. You may need to open those ports in the firewall as well. Mike, N0SO On Jan 7, 2014, at 3:04 PM, <mm.barrett@...> wrote:

Still no joy ... called comcast, they do not block port 9000. When I try from the wan I get time out, from lan side I get connection refused. Linux and windows machine behave the same way. does not matter where I put the proxy server. I can connect to the ref.d-rats.com without issue. Really have not idea what is blocking the connection. any other ideas are welcome. 73 de mike |

开云体育Can you connect to it on port local host (127.0.0.1) running a d-rats client on the local host? Mike, N0SO On Jan 8, 2014, at 9:04 AM, <mm.barrett@...> wrote:

开云体育There is a "trust local host" control in d-rats_repeater configuration. If it is checked and it's still not connecting from localhost, then something on the local machine is blocking or interfering with the connection. Mike, N0SO On Jan 9, 2014, at 8:12 AM, <mm.barrett@...> wrote:

Try this: Stop all instances of D-RATS running on machines on your local network. On the machine running the repeater, delete all connections in the D-RATS program except the one for localhost (127.0.0.1). In the repeater program,?delete?any devices you may have added and check the boxes for trust local host and allow incoming connections. That is as stripped down as you can get. Finally, click the On button. Everything in the window should turn gray except for the Off button.

开云体育Try running a d-rats client on another computer on your LAN an try to connect to your ratflector using its local LAN address (the IP address of the PC running d-rats_reflector) and see if that works.? If it does, have someone outside your LAN try and connect using your routers address. Mike, N0SO PS:? Question: you have been selecting "on" each time when starting up d-rats_repeater, correct?
