D-Rats can send/ receive POP/SMTP mail using an Outlook or other account just like any mail client. It is advisable to have an exclusive address (free) for just D-Rats. Reason is if you are trying to do some of the more advanced mail stuff in D-Rats (like forwarding internet email through a relay or mail server) you will not receive your messages if you are using that account on something like a phone that polls for email all the time. POP/SMTP, for those of us who have been around awhile, pulls the mail off the server. It's gone. If you check it with D-Rats, it won't be there. Yeah, there are some tweaks you can make to avoid this but for practical purposes, make an account just for D-Rats. Then you can open D-Rats and use that just like an old email client similar to a 25 year old client.?
