Hi Guys,
When I load new program in the processor, it keeps rebooting. I can get it back by bypassing the program and reloading the old one.
Any clue what should I be looking for in the program that may cause this? I only Biamp and Tandberg Modules in the program. rest are just buffers so I can run non core 3 on tp and test core 3 on xpanel and provide feedback to smart objects..
TIA

I have had this problem on the older units before they upgraded the amount of memory that was in them. They would work perfectly up until a certain point and then what's the program got too large with current firmware loaded it became a problem. Any chance the firmware in the unit is kinda on the old side? A few database versions back I found that newly compiled programs would stop working in processors they had been fine in until the firmware got uppped.

Actually, it's the reverse. If you update the firmware without recompiling the program with the newer databases then you get the problem.

I think you're both right. I've had several processors get in that loop or refuse to take a program because FW and DB weren't lined up. Actually,
There was a database release that had an include.dat that caused 3.155 firmware to continually reboot

Have you try this:
Erase actual program
Upload a blank program
Disconnect ethernet
Disconnect crestnet
Trying an external power supply

Just a shot in the dark here, delete the SPIsWork folder and recompile your program, then reload the program.

I will get another shot at it today in the afternoon. I will try all your solutions.
To be honest I am not sure how old the AV2 actually is.
I will keep you guys posted on my findings.
Thanks once again.

Any chance the firmware in the unit is kinda on the old side? A
few database versions back I found that newly compiled programs would stop working in processors they had been fine in until the firmware got uppped.

Hi Guys,

Any clue what should I be looking for in the program that may
cause this? I only Biamp and Tandberg Modules in the program. rest are just buffers so I can run non core 3 on tp and test core 3 on xpanel and provide feedback to smart objects..
TIA

Check the amont of onboard memory. If its 32 the unit is old and the firmware needs to be downgraded if you are running something current or it needs to be sent to crestron for a memory upgrade. I think its about 200$ or so. JMG Outlook Signature From: Crestron@... [mailto:Crestron@...] On Behalf Of coolaiddrinker Sent: Friday, May 10, 2013 11:43 AM To: Crestron@... To be honest I am not sure how old the AV2 actually is. I will keep you guys posted on my findings. I've got one of the first ever Pro2s on my bench running 4.7.4 without any problems. Are you sure about that??

Yes. Totally dependant on program size. Might work with the program and as you build on it and it gets larger will do the reboot thing. Same with AV2. JMG Outlook Signature From: Crestron@... Same here, Chip. I have a rather old PRO2 with the smaller memory and 4.7 firmware runs just fine. Tray From: Chip Sent: Friday, May 10, 2013 1:35 PM To: Crestron@... I also have an ancient Pro2 (IIRC, when I got it was running CUZ 1.00x) with 32MB of RAM running the latest release (it might actually be newer than latest -- I need to double check) and no issues.
75% of the Pro2s in our Cleveland office are 32MB versions -- again all running the latest released FW -- and they take all the beatings we throw at them.
Yes, if the program is huge you may have issues but it's not a safe blanket statement, and if everything's been happy and no major changes have been introduced it's almost certainly not the issue.

Okay so far I have tried all the options:
1. initialize the processor 2. upload a blank program 3. unplug & replug ethernet and cresnet 4. reload of the program.
The Internal memory of processor is about 2432 KB. My program size for zip file is 1,016 KB and .spz is about 75 KB.
Total Signal names in my program are just shy of 1K. I don't believe that my program is too big for it to actually handle and in residential, programs are way bigger.
I tried the same program on a different AV2 without any hiccup. It has the same firmware and same memory size.
Any other ideas perhaps?
I am sorry if this thread is getting dragged along too far.
