Re: OMG SB 3.10.....

Am I mussing something somewhere? I have added the weather module into SB but I don't get any pages. I click on the info for the module and it states This module works in conjunction with the "Crestron Weather Touch Panel Interface." Where do I find this interface? I have looked all over the crestron site as well as re-built and added tp to the program with still no luck.

Thanks

Ok, so has anyone tried the new SB release since yesterday...

I just added the new Crestron Weather device to my AMP-AIP system at home
to test the intended functionality and translate it to a SIMPL system I'm
currently programming.

When I read the release notes, I was skeptical at best....

My average build time for my home system was about 12 minutes.

I just added another MLX-2 to the program as well as the weather module and
a few other small changes.

Interface build time - about the same
Program generation - 2:33!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Compile time - about the same

On the Finish tab, there are not options to simply "update system" which
according to the release notes can update portions of the program without
rebuilding in it's entirety.

This is revolutionary.... all my complaining was worth it LOL!

Re: Crestron Mobile Pro G - Designing in Landscape

I wish Crestron would come out with an update to designing for iPad in VTPROe... I feel like it's not even worth messing with until I can start my design in landscape mode. I don't really trust or want to get involved with CommandFusion, although I hear it works well.

To make me happy all they would need to do is let me chose to make pages in landscape, portrait, or both, and lock the orientation if I'm only using one of them.

CommandFusion is not an option this late in the game. For one I am not going to mess with having an issue with more than 5 iPads at once. My application is to cross scale between analog rgbhv and SDI inputs to analog rgbhv and SDI outputs. I pulled the products and hooked them up this morning (controlling via tcp/ip). The switching worked just fine, the S2 and C2 product switches automatically.

I'll post back about the quality when the project is complete.

What bothers me is when a sales guy tells me a client is asking for their code and doesn't even ask why and expects me to just send it. We always do, but at least ask. If a client is asking for code to replicate a system with another vendor, maybe its better they're gone anyway.

I would view the replication of the system as falling outside of the
license. Whether or not A) I'd ever find out and B) be in a position to

Some sort of 'replication fee' would seem appropriate.

Gentlemen

I recently began working with a commercial dealer programming small
conference rooms (Picture an MPS-M5, DVD, PC input, and display - very
small). They took my advice and used a cookie cutter approach for future
conference rooms.soon one room turned into sixteen, and it looks like there
may eventually end up being over a hundred implementations.

It has always been my policy (a policy held by many of you) that after final
payment, the code belongs to the dealer. I've just never had a dealer plan
to use one small piece of code in possibly hundreds of instances. I've sold
modules on a per use basis, but (alas) none have been so wildly successful
as to warrant a licensing policy. Thusly: Do any of you license on a per use
basis? One well worded sentence added to my contract could mean a ridiculous
difference in income from this dealer. That is, if I can get my head around
the ethical issues (if there are any).

Secondly, I know about anchors but all that gives me is the protrait size on a landscape page so I have unused space all over the place.

From what I am hearing it looks like I am boned and need to develop it in portrait and have excess space on the sides....

Re: iPad issues

A bad dynamic graphic serial path. I was doing a project with an Axis Video server. On one page of my iPad I used the internal IP address of the Axis and I was able to view the MJPEG stream. However on a second page I used the WAN address and port with a supposedly proper port forwarded router but the app crashed right away. It stayed open but no button presses worked. Had to close the app and relaunch and avoid that page.

I called TB with some general iPad questions at the time and mentioned this and the resident iPad guru acknowledged the behavior saying it was the bad dynamic graphic serial path. TMI? Anyway, HTH/

Subject: [Crestron] iPad issues

So this is the first iPad I've used and until today everything was going
great. I've been working with this control system for a couple days and
everything was fine. I was only making minor changes and little things that
were missed so nothing really changed. Now Mobile Pro G seems to keep
locking up.

Sometimes as soon as the flash page loads its already locked and nothing
happens. The time at the top of the screen doesnt change or anything. When
it doesnt lock up from the start, it always locks up when you press the 3rd
item on a list control from the main page. Once that is pressed it becomes
unresponsive, server one disconnects, than a minute or two later it connects
to server 2. The panel than flashes with the right sub pages and immedietly
goes to "Updating". You can see the updates sent from the processor in the
debugger and 2 seconds later server 2 disconnects...the panel gets stuck on
"Updating" and eventually connects to server 1 a few minutes later back and
forth until you quit the app and restart the program.

I tried deleting the list control and making a new one. It worked for a few
minutes after the new upload but now the same problem is occuring. Any help
would be appreciated! It's extremely frustrating because it was working fine
the last few days and now that I'm 99% done it's all going to hell.

Thanks,
Jacob
