Re: Controlling MacMini shutdown thru Telnet
You could probably save some time and effort if you did some googling on Telnet negotiations... - Chip

My understanding is that dnav is crippled. My fear is that it'll remain that way. Core3ui is next. Envoy¨¦ de mon iPad [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Re: DM USB usefullness...
I haven't used the USB functionality on a DM before, and maybe this is more of a resi thing, but I assume you can have it setup with two (or more) computers in the rack that connect audio/video/USB to

Re: Crestron DM cable alternative
I've done entire installations with cat5e UTP and normal RJ-45s. Longest run was 150ft I think with 0 problems. In fact, the install went smoother than DM-8G cable and ends due to far easier

Re: Crestron DM cable alternative
Deployed, no, tested yes. It seemed to work Ok. I don't trust it enough to actually do it. I consider it useful for running a wire across the ground to verify that a problem isn't in a cable. If you

Replace a show controller with Crestron?? Hopefully they weren't providing critical timing functions. :)

Re: DM USB usefullness...
My experience is identical and I agree completely. I suspect that there are two things at play, whether or not the port supplies power and the way that the firmware in the units are programmed. The

DM USB usefullness...
Am I the only one who thinks the USB implementation on DM is pretty useless as is? It seems like there is never a good way to use it in any of the designs that I see. What would be really nice is both

Crestron DM cable alternative
Has anyone deployed DM 8g+ systems with regular cat5e cable with standard RJ45 connectors with no issues?

Re: DM Sanity Check
It's almost like because the Analog hasn't changed in value on startup, that the value wasn't propagated into the DM. I wonder if you put a bit of a delay at startup to init the analog input for audio

Re: Values must be between 0d and 59999d.
It's extra frustrating because I have modules that are configured to work that way and work fine on a 2-series.

Re: DM Sanity Check
That's exactly the behavior I would expect if I was holding the "Enter" high, but pulsing Enter my expectation is that /all/ of the routes would be made -- like an analog buffer, and IIRC the way the

Re: 2 Projectors from a single COM port..
Why not use a projector that supports addressing and loop through RS232C... most of the bigger Panasonics (PT-DW[4 digits]) support this. -- Lincoln King-Cliby, CTS Sr. Systems Architect | Crestron

Maybe. Last summer we took over a museum and replaced five show controllers with a Rack2. The original equipment was a com-port short, so two projectors were controlled with one port. The TX went to

I'm sure it would never be classed as "best practice" but we tested/implemented it on a job and its working fine - we only did one-way serial for control though, as you a) wouldn't know which device
