Headsup: D3 running on 2 series with current databases

 

In case this helps others: I updated an old job the other day, it was a D3 system on a PAC2M. After I'd long gone the client complained that time of day events weren't happening any more. After poking around a bit I figured out what's going on. If you open up the Simpl that D3 generates, the very first warning was this:

WARNING(214)??
? ? ? ? Symbol [S-1.6.3] not supported on control system, and has been commented out.? If this is/has SPlus, try recompiling SPlus for correct target control system. If this is .umc file, try re-editing to select correct target control system. Don't forget to resave .umc files.?

Symbol S-1.6.3 is indeed the Event Scheduler "eventsked3_v1_2(cm)" which, if I open that up, now only shows compatibility with 3 and 4 series. So? I guess Crestron forgot this module was the one used in D3, or something.

Aside from rolling possibly wayyyyy back in database versions, I'm not sure what the best fix is as of now. Starting a case with Crestron.

Hi LEvans,
I have mine setup with VM VC-4 and there is not much to configure. Under Settings>System Setup there is a Crestron Fusion Server URL which points to your instance of fusion.

The path is?http://your?fusion path/fusion/devicemanager/api/devicemanager?
Replace your fusion path with the actual path.

When you add a room to VC-4 it automatically pops up in the Fusion setup>Discovered objects tab just like a discovered processor. If that does not appear under the Discovered Objects then something is broken in the VC-4 back end and need attention from Crestron support. When i set mine up they had to log into the VC-4 server and change some things. Not sure what tho.

No, i checked the settings for the app before. Looked good to me and are the same after the re-install.

Perhaps something was screwed up with the first installation and got sorted with the re-install.

OK, but that brings the network permission for the Crestron Go app to my mind.

Maybe after the first install you didn¡®t allow it and with the second you did?!


Not shure what the behavior would be if this permission is not set, but could imagine?

It¡¯s in the quick start guide.?


pull the air gap, press and hold the bottom button the close close the air gap button and it will set the dimmer to forward phase.?


if you need to get it back to auto, same procedure but hold the top button.?

Deleting and reinstalling the CrestronGo app did the trick.

with all necessary connections.

Because you don¡®t get an error message I can¡®t believe it¡®s a configuration or misplacement
of the files. Because you stay in the connecting state I am pretty shure the iPad didn¡®t connect
to the processor.

You really need to check if the communication between the subnets is blocking all or some?
communication. You need the https and the CIP to be able to reach the processor.?


If the communication between subnets is working, maybe try an user with more rights than connection only.?
I had issues, mostly with TSW Panels, not connecting with SSL if the user had limited rights. But not?
shure if that was a FW issue for limited time on processors and is solved.

Have you tried the blocked IPs command through text console to see if the IP is being blocked??

You can also connect to the processor and go to the authentication settings and see if the admin account is being blocked. If it is, set up a new user and use those credentials for connecting the app to the processor?

When you placed the iPhone files in the HTML folder, make sure that you you are transfering two separate files, not the one folder.

I'm trying Lincoln's solution mentioned above, since I'm not having the luck that others apparently have with the Global Cache devices.? ?However, despite being set up how I feel is properly (same subnet, IP table pointing at the VC4's IP, etc) the RMC Scaler C that I've chosen for the task isn't coming online with its IP Table.? I'd had the same issue with the NVX devices that are also in the system, until I enabled the authenticated connection in their setup, and then they came online, but the RMC offers no such option.? I did go as far as to point the default router of the RMC to the processor's IP, just to see if it made any difference (it didn't).? I'm fairly certain there's something I'm missing, and I would imagine it has to do with the level of security that the VC4 is looking for, but so far I haven't had luck figuring it out.? Can anyone shed some light???

BACNet - register as foreign device

have any of you ever used the BACNETRegasfd (register as foreign device) command from the processor console?
?
I want to communicate with a bacnet controller that is on a different VLAN (I can ping it from the processor), but registering as a foreign device does nothing.
?
Today I started testing those bacnet commands at home (with wireshark open) and - what puzzles me the most - when I send the BACNETDEVICediscovery command from the processor console I could see it in the wireshark (who-is query, BACNet APDU protocol), while when sending the BACNETRegasfd?command, nothing appeared in wireshark...
?
Then I checked "register as foreign device" option with YABE and pushing register button caused... the query (who-is, BVLC protocol) actually appeared in wireshark.
?
Could it be some bug in the software then? Has anyone ever managed to use this command and actually register processor as a foreign device?

I am using RMC3, ver v1.8001.4814.24421 for testing purposes.

If you are looking for the buttons to show feedback then that is not a feature.?
If you are just looking for button presses then, I just tested this on a TS-1070 using latest firmware without an issues.?

How do you force the dimming phase on a Clwi dimuex? ?Auto is causing flashing and I can see how to get reporting but not change the phase from auto to reverse to forward to see if a fixed setting help. ?Thanks

Also, in the Go app on your phone, make sure that you 'Enable SSL' and add the UN/PW of the processor (main or user account if set up)...

Other than that it may be an issue with your router rules between subnets like Dobias mentioned

Hi Thorsten

In the Crestron Go settings there is an option to allow access to the local network. This can randomly be turned off by default, but not in all cases weirdly.

iPhone and processor are on different subnets, but ping between processor and iphone works (vice versa).

I?m also having trouble connecting via Toolbox to the Go-app (which should be possible I understand).
