Re: Crestron Go Tablet - iPad locking up after kept alive for X amount of time

Yeah, we have tried both settings, no change unfortunately.

Crestron Go Tablet - iPad locking up after kept alive for X amount of time

I have a client who has an issue I have researched, but have not been able to find anyone else experiencing the problem.? I'm still trying to determine where the problem may lie but would love to hear if anyone else has run into this issue and/or thoughts on what may be causing it.

Basically the client has an iPad with a VTP project hosted on the processor.? It's not a large project at all, just a pretty standard resi type project that works perfectly fine on the in wall panels.? The client is stating that locally (iPad is on the local network) after random period of times, while the iPad is locked in keep awake, when the iPad is running the application and project, the entire app will lock up not allowing any input from the user.? The client then has to close the app, reload and it works fine again until the next lockup which is basically just another RNG amount of time.

The application, iPad and processor are all up to date with firmware and iOS updates.
LockConfig:? ?Off
Lock Orientation:? Off
Auto-reconnect:? Off
Check for Update:? On
Logging Enabled:? Off
Hide Demo Project:? Off
Use Improved H.264 Player:? On

Thoughts?? TIA!

Re: Shelly button press

Hi Itai,

What you are seeing is the way the module was written.? All the Input_*_*_FB outputs are simply pulsed as I viewed these as events that will drive other actions in a program.? In my testing I was using a simple push button tied to the input on the relay so I could test double-press, etc. events.? That probably drove my implementing the code this way.

The help for the module specifically documents these as pulsed outputs.? If you need something different it is pretty easy to add a little additional logic in your program.?

Hope this helps

Thanks

Jay

Hi Jay,

I am using a Shelly Plus 1 with control of a relay (works well from the Crestron module) and a sensor (switch). I added the I/O URL Actions and I do get a feedback in Crestron but it changes the "Input_0_On_FB" to high and then immediately to low within 100ms. The same happens on the Input_0_Off_FB.?

It seems like I am close but not sure why the sensor state isn't being maintained in Crestron. They both show 0 after the signal goes low.?

Thanks
Itai

Re: Zoom with Flex Systems

Got it. The thanks for that info.

Re: Zoom with Flex Systems

If that's all you want (Lights, Shades, and Single Camera control) then you shouldn't have an issue. The issue you run into is when the client wants Matrix routing, a cable box, Multiple cameras / content sources, oh and its a 3-way divisible space.

As long as you keep it nailed down to what a Teams / Zoom room should be then i think it works great. If you want all the other stuff, Then there best bet to run it all of a Laptop or Static PC in the room.

Re: NVidia Shield control from Crestron

I am away from work PC but the commands are from Crestron's help pages if you search CEC commands.? When I press any of the navigation keys it wakes up the NVidia Shield.? Yes the menu works.? I use it to control the Channels DVR APP and menu is working fine.? Look at this public post that has them also:?/g/crestron/topic/hdmi_cec_control_codes/35764759

Re: Waterproof iPad

I use an OtterBox with a wireless charging adapter.? It sits on a wireless charging stand until it is needed someplace else.? It can't charge fast like an android tablet that has native wireless charging, but it works well enough.

I thought of that. do you know if they have table-mount charging bases? or is it just a case that you have to plug in to charge?

It's got to be portable...

Re: Zoom with Flex Systems

I've only been doing residential systems, but now have an opportunity to do a small Flex room for an office. I'm not too familiar with the Flex kits as far as integration with existing devices.? I was doing a little research and so it seems you can grab the sample program / 'software' from Crestron and modify it to fit your setup and then those modules included will talk to the UC and such?

My goal is to take the system which has 4 rooms with a single shade each, and Crestron lighting, ( dimmers and switches) and 1 zone of video with a few sources, then add something like the soundbar with built in webcam, and a tabletop I suppose and being able to video conference from that zone, as well as keep the control of the lights and shades.? This thread is saying that while it does work, its complicated and sometimes 'janky'?

Is it better to have a tabletop Flex system for the video conferencing and then an ipad with Crestron Go loaded for everything else?

Waterproof iPad

Hi All,
I have a client that has an awesome outdoor space including an outdoor kitchen, pool area, etc...
He wants an iPad for control of the AV, Lights, pool, etc. so I'm looking to find some way to have the iPad be waterproof.
It does not need to go in the Pool!...Haha? just needs to handle getting some rain and general moisture resistance
I checked with SEALOC and iPort but they don't have anything.

What have others used? I was hoping for some sort of dock...

Thanks.

Robotic mowers operate very differently than a human powered mower.? People typically mow their lawn once a week during the summer.? This gives the lawn plenty of time to grow so you have to deal in some way with the clippings.? You might have a mulching mower that is designed to cut the clippings up very fine so they become fertilizer for the lawn or your mower collects the clippings in a bag.?

Robotic mowers are designed to be run much more often, even daily.? In this way the grass has only grown a short amount and the clippings are very short.? This allows the mower to operate as a mulching mower so the clippings become fertilizer for the lawn.

I'm not sure how the Navimow deals with the kinds of obstacles you mention.? However, I am doing a second article on the mower's performance because I live in the mountains and it has still been too cold for my grass to really have started growing yet.? I'll make sure I include some obstacle avoidance tests.

Thanks again

Jay

Interesting product I wish this had been around many decades years ago when I was sent out to mow my family's yards with a push mower! What about the lawn clippings? Unless this thing grinds up the cuttings to a fine dust, the first strong winds will deposit cut grass everywhere. Also thinking back on that time, I would encounter obstacles such as dog poop, dead birds, tree branches, etc. Maybe dog exhaust is no longer much of a problem now with most dog owners responsibly bagging it but for the rest it seems you still need to do a 'walk-through' of the property before unleashing it. I'm glad the reviewer pointed out the cloud vs local network issue; internet connectivity seems to be assumed on many new products. If it can do 98% of the job, that's still a great timesaver.?

Re: NVidia Shield control from Crestron

Which CEC module? Does it wake up Nvidia if it goes to sleep? You have menu command working?

Could you share or email a screenshot of what commands you are using?

Thank you

Re: NVidia Shield control from Crestron

If you are using a Crestron DM system... I use standard CEC commands and they work great!? Play, pause, FF, Rewind, navigation all work.

Re: Smart Graphics dpad question

Thank You.
That's all I needed to finish this.
