Only once or twice in all these years I have been able to get debugger to run for more than a handful of hours. Probably was a 2-series. Its unreliable for anything after 15 mins or so.? |
Re: Controlling TiVo
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýYou do need to enable the API (I forget what ys labeled in the menu..."network remote" or something along those lines) on each device you want to control, including the minis.?
From there just point the module at the Mini's IP address and it should just work -- I've been controlling various generations of TiVo and Mini in my home system for over a decade and it is refreshingly reliable and consistent (I only wish the
box could give feedback, e.g. what is currently being played/status, via it's protocol but alas...

Topics in Home Automation - New Article in Residential Tech Today
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýMy latest article is the second in a three part series on the
resilient smart home.? The first article focused on making the
smart home systems in a home resilient to natural disasters, and
other events, that can impact the ability of the homeowners and
their family to live in their home.? This second part in this
series of articles focuses on making other systems in the home
resilient.? The final article in this series will focus on
leveraging smart home technology to avoid having issues in your
home and, again, leveraging smart home technology to minimize the
damage to a home when an issue occurs. The first article in the series can be found here:

Re: Anyone noticing slowdowns/failures in loading to 4-series processors lately?
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI have SETLOGOFFIDLETIME set to infinte on my CP4 so I can run SimplDebugger for extended periods of time to capture spurious issues when I'm debugging driver code.? Unfortunately, my experience is that it doesn't work.? I still get disconnects if I try to leave Simpldebugger running for any extended period of time. I wish it would work as it has become near impossible to try and capture error situations that only occur at irregular time intervals. ? Jay On 1/16/2024 11:20 AM, Michael Block

Slip,
I bet the SystemInfo issue you are having is related to the hardening of the processor. ?This command "SETLOGOFFIDLETIME" defaults to 20 minutes IIRC but can be changed. ?If you have text console or debugger open but idle, this command will kick you out of those too. ?I typically set this for 60 minutes when I commission each system. Controlling TiVo
I have a Tivi DVr and 4 TiVo minis,
I am using the TiVo 3 series module and can connect to the main DvR unit via the Ip and control the unit. The same module will not connect to the ip addresses of the TiVo Minis. How do you connect to the Mini units and control them, these can all be controlled via the TiVo app Thanks Regards Pete Milton |
MPC3-302 knob sensitivity / resolution
Hi.
Is it possible to control the sensitivity of the knob in an MPC3-302? OOTB it's giving me a resolution of 5,461d, meaning it takes only 12 steps to go from 0d to 65,535d, which is unacceptable if you're doing volume control. Using the clockwise/counterclockwise feedbacks along with an AINC also doesn't work, since those fire about 3-4 times a second max, regardless of the speed you're turning the knob. FW & SW are updated to latest. Thanks. |
Re: Anyone noticing slowdowns/failures in loading to 4-series processors lately?
Always slot 1 for me in multi-slot systems.
The system info tool takes forever to populate, quite often hanging at 30 or 50%. EDIT: Also, another thing that is different to 3-series - If I open system info and eventually get it to populate, leaving it for any length of time it appears to drop the connection. 3-series will stay connected forever. |
Re: Question about Crestron Mobile panels....
? Sometimes it is easier to troubleshoot with multiple user interfaces if you use unique signal names on the touch panel and ipad definitions, such as TP01 Projector Power, TP02 Projector Power, iPad01 Projector Power, iPad02 Projector Power, etc. and then connect all of those signals to the command input on the IR driver using an OR gate.? That way you can follow the button press and subsequent action a little easier in Debugger. ? Hope this helps a little. ? Kol |
Re: Question about Crestron Mobile panels....
The buttons are joined directly to the ir driver for the new projector. None of the ipad symbols in simpl use any buffers. The ir commands now work in the new panels. There was an issue with the user database that I corrected which is why it ir file would not work previously.? However, with the same vt program loaded into the ipad minis, and no change to the logic in the processor, the ipad minis, while updating all changes, will not recognize the joins in debugger or in the panels. There are buffers in the program but they are used for older touchpanels and not ipads. As well, I tried loading the program on my phone and again, while updating all the graphics etc, it is acting like the ipad minis. If I use the old ir Epson projector file, all the panels work fine but that doesn't tell me what is going on with the new file moreover there are commands on the new remote that are not in the old ir file that I need. So it seems like there is a problem in getting the ipad minis ( and now phones) to recognize the new logic from the new ir file. There is something I am overlooking.

Re: TSW-1070 IP Table Offline
Which is really stupid as they really should be setting these for User Project once they leave the factory. Especially since they have a dedicated -R version of these just for CH. Which is also cheaper so I would imagine 99% percent of the CH sites get -R versions of these panels. Leave the regular ones as they should be- User Projects.??
I also run a script for panels for initial setup and one of the commands in it that I had to add was APPMODE DISABLE since we have seen similar issues. But shouldnt have to do that in custom settings with a custom panel.? |
Re: Anyone noticing slowdowns/failures in loading to 4-series processors lately?
I'm having the issue with the latest release at a site I was at last week.? I have 3 slots in use and the issue only seems to happen with Slot-01 for me.? I don't know if t hat is because it is the largest and most active program on the processor or if it is a slot specific issue.

Re: Device Control Lag via IP
I've had an issue like this and chased it for too long. Turned out to be a duplicate IP address. Dante and control had the same IP. Dante audio was passing just fine but the switch was very confused. I also have had Sennheiser Cockpit Control (Their software) causing issues on my personal network as well as a customers. The Cockpit software was flooding the network most likely looking for its family of products.

Re: Question about Crestron Mobile panels....
Thing is, the project file IS being updated in the ipads with the issues. New buttons and changes show up no problem. If I include logic with ir codes that already exist in the program there is no problem. However when I add in the new ir codes for the projector, joined to the same buttons, the processor sees the buttons but the logic does not engage ie active inactive on the panel and in debugger. BUT, with the other two ipads loaded with the same new ir file and buttons, debugger does see the logic with a button press and so does the panel buttons. But the IR code doesn't work. Very strange.
