Re: CNX-PAD8A advice: Solved
I must be jinxed! The unit I swapped in just died the same way. Toolbox device tree shows firmware 1.0(); I think it was 0.22 when I got it. Can anyone think of any reason why this would happen again? There is a button on the back next to the "Setup" led, I cannot find any documentation about it. Is the latest firmware still available on the Crestron site? I have to get another one so if the firmware is still there, I'll find someone in Silicon Valley to see about flashing the latest. IIRC you have to use Viewport, not Toolbox. BTW what was the difference between the PAD8A and BIPAD8 other than the number of jacks? Was the BIPAD8 an updated version?
Thanks, Paul |
Re: CP4-R password reset
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI believe so. If it doesn¡¯t automatically open Crestron Home Setup after logging in on the iPad browser, then you can simply download it from the App Store & discover the CP4-R on the network. I¡¯m pretty sure you don¡¯t need a crestron dealer login for downloading it.?On Nov 13, 2022, at 8:16 PM, wiringnut <florian.speier@...> wrote:

We¡¯ve been selling a lot of Yealink for Zoom and Teams. Great product line and very integrator friendly. As a dealer, we make much better margins on Yealink vs. Logitech, and support is far superior. You can add custom controls to Yealink touch panel with support for Q-Sys, Extron, or AMX control systems. This integration is done by loading an HTML5/CSS page to the panel that talks directly to the control system. I¡¯d imagine it could be made to work with Crestron control as well using this method.?Neal, Thanks for the recommendation. Yealink does look like it has a pretty scalable range of products, which I don't think that Logitech has (important because I have a few larger rooms to deal with...) A couple questions/concerns: 1. They have no phone number on the website, so I'm waiting for them to *bless* me with a call back...? Does support provide a phone number once you're dealing with the product or is it just thru email? 2. do they have US-based distribution and support or? via China? 3. Do you have any concerns with this being a China-based company? TIA! |

Thank you. Just to be clear, I can access the CP4R via an iPad web browser (being in the same network of course) after this password reset - and then the iPad will open crestron home setup? ? |
Re: CP4-R password reset
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHowdy,Yup that¡¯s right, SW-R button for 15 seconds. The red LED will flash each second & then it will rapid blink once 15 seconds is reached. Then, you can use device discovery/EasyConfig with Toolbox to set the new admin password, or you can log into the processor via web browser and do it there.? This resets ALL passwords, so that means you¡¯ll have to create a new interface password as well via Crestron Home Setup (this is for TSR remotes, TSW panels, tablets, phones, etc.) Hope it works! -Hadley On Nov 13, 2022, at 7:58 AM, wiringnut <florian.speier@...> wrote:

CP4-R password reset

Hello,
I have to take over a new to me system¡. If I understand the crestron documentation right, holding SW-R for 15 sec makes for a password only reset ?in a cp4r home system. I want to be prepared rather than embarrassed, has anyone done that? Docs say new admin password can be entered after that, do I have to be hardwired for that or is this possible via iPad and home setup app? thank you? |
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýNot to mention that for most rooms most of the time just keeping everything on the touch 10 leads to a better UX for the end users because it¡¯s more consistent from room to room (simple rooms where it¡¯s JUST a codec touch10 and display and fancier rooms with lighting/shades/HVAC, etc. work the same way.) ¨C combine that with intelligent design, like using sync for input selection rather than making users choose inputs and it makes for a very low-friction experience.? The only downside is because so much magic is happening behind the curtains it can sometimes take a conversation for the client to understand what they need you for, but when they do it¡¯s a very good relationship. ? This does get tricker for more ¡°touchy¡± rooms but I still prefer to keep the T10/NAV as the primary UI where I can drive things in that direction with the ¡°Tech Panel¡± used more on an ¡°exception¡± than ¡°routine¡± basis. ? -- Lincoln King-Cliby, CTS, DMC-E-4K/T/D ?
