Re: Crestron GO and iOS 16.x

Yes, I've seen this. In my testing it seems to happen when you close the app and let it run in the background then open it again. Doesn't seem to happen when I force close the app every time.

Re: HZ-THSTAT Power requirements for testing

According to https://www.crestron.com/Products/Lighting-Environment/Climate-Control/Thermostats/HZ-THSTAT-W
- Power Consumption: 3 W @ 24VAC
- Hidden USB port can be used to power and preconfigure the thermostat (Micro B female, USB 2.0 computer console port for firmware upload, temporary power, and device configuration). Believe it indicated on rear of unit, but didn't see any drawings as to exactly where.

Re: Alternatives to Crestron UC solutions

"Yealink does look like it has a pretty scalable range of products, which I don't think that Logitech has (important because I have a few larger rooms to deal with...)"
What specifically are you looking for? Logitech's VC focused catalog has met the scope requirements of most space types I've come across. They've opened up to 3rd party DSPs (Biamp, QSC, Nureva, Shure, etc) through the Roommate appliance and have a strong showing when it comes to soundbar designs. Optical camera lens options, cloud based management platform, options between appliance (Android 10) or Windows based computes and a slew of subsidiary companies which they draw knowledge?and experience from. Plenty of new UC focused solutions both in hardware and software coming in the new year for both in-room and personal use. Just some off-the-cuff thoughts for your consideration.

Crestron GO and iOS 16.x

Hi All,
I'm getting a report from one of my dealers about a display issue with the GO app and iOS 16.x.
It seems that when opening the app, the graphics are shifted partly off-screen and/or are scaled incorrectly...
Closing and reopening seems to fix it, until you open again and then you're back to square one...

Anyone else see this kind of issue???
TIA!

HZ-THSTAT Power requirements for testing

Hi All,
Does anyone know if you can power the HZ-THSTAT units with 24vDC (i.e. Cresnet Power)??
I need to bench a unit for testing and don't have a 24vAC transformer lying around...
I'll go get one at the hardware store if needed but just wanted to check before I blew it up...HaHa...:)

I suspect that an update to the compiler is making a big change on programs that were made before the update... should I be scared?

Re: Sony Bravia 32" TV CEC Commands

Edited

Have you tried these:

hdmi1 0xEF, 0x82, 0x10, 0x00
hdmi2 0xEF, 0x82, 0x20, 0x00
hdmi3 0xEF, 0x82, 0x30, 0x00
hdmi4 0xEF, 0x82, 0x40, 0x00

INPUT 1 \x4F\x82\x10\x00 ?
INPUT 2 \x4F\x82\x20\x00 ?
INPUT 3 \x4F\x82\x30\x00 ?
INPUT 4 \x4F\x82\x40\x00

Re: Sony Bravia 32" TV CEC Commands

I spent a bunch of time trying to find Sony input commands for CEC. I gave up. Power on and off work great. Volume also great. I found a command that goes to tuner Input and you could toggle inputs to the hdmi you want. But it¡¯s messy

Re: CNX-PAD8A advice: Solved

CNX-PAD8A firmware v0.22 was unstable in that the firmware would get erase and you would just have the boot loader showing up in viewport.? Any CNX-PAD8A with v0.22 should be upgraded to v1.08.? Reloading firmware is tricky.? I don't remember the details so I suggest to call Crestron if you have trouble.? And yes I said viewport because I don't think you can load firmware via toolbox. ? So you probably need to find an old XP machine and load viewport on to it to restore the CNX-PAD8A.

The BIPAD8 is similar to the PAD8A and is prone to the same firmware issue. ? It was design to interface directly with the CNX-VPID8x4 room boxes. I believe the firmware file is the same for both the BIPAD8 and PAD8A.

Good luck,
Steve

VC-4 Subnet #crestron

I was finally able to get a USB dongle for my VC-4 instance to try to get the subnet working.
When I run the script to set up the subnet it fails.

Please input the interface you wish to be the main LAN interface (valid options are: ['enp0s19f2u3', 'enp2s0']): enp2s0 Error: unknown connection 'enp2s0'. Please input the interface you wish to be the Control Subnet interface (valid options are: ['enp0s19f2u3', 'enp2s0'] ): enp0s19f2u3 Unable to find connection profile for enp0s19f2u3. You may need to find it using the NMTUI tool built into this OS.

funny it sees both interfaces then errors. I can see both in the OS and both are connected. enp2s0 = lan , enp0s19f2u3 = subnet(connected to a switch).

Any ideas what could be wrong?

Sony Bravia 32" TV CEC Commands

Hi, I am trying to control a 32" Sony Bravia TV. Obviously these screens don't come with the simple IP control facility, so i have been trying to work an alternative.

My thoughts turned to CEC as a solution as this wouldn't require any unsightly emitters to be stuck to the screen. I have managed to find CEC codes to turn it on and off, and to do volume up/down/mute, but cant find anything to provide input control. Does anyone have any working CEC codes for the Sony HDMI 1/2/3 inputs?

Cursor, back, okay, and home button commands would be good to if they exist but i'm not holding my breath on that!!

Incidentally in order to do a "down and dirty?quick fix" I tried to temporarily fit an IR emitter but despite trying several different code sets from the database I cannot get the TV to respond to ANY commands regardless of where I site the emitter. I have done a 32" Sony (earlier model) before with IR without issue so this is also a bit perplexing!

CEC would be my preferred solution if I could just get the Input codes.

What I have so far:

Power On: \x40\x04
Power Off: \x40\x36
Vol Up: \x40\x44\x41
Vol Down: \x40\x44\x42
Mute: \x40\x44\x43

I can?t believe there?s something available¡

Re: Multizone Audio Player with Scheduler

DVS with MZAP is flexible. However is there any alternative solution.?

Re: CNX-PAD8A advice: Solved

I must be jinxed! The unit I swapped in just died the same way. Toolbox device tree shows firmware 1.0(); I think it was 0.22 when I got it. Can anyone think of any reason why this would happen again? There is a button on the back next to the "Setup" led, I cannot find any documentation about it. Is the latest firmware still available on the Crestron site? I have to get another one so if the firmware is still there, I'll find someone in Silicon Valley to see about flashing the latest. IIRC you have to use Viewport, not Toolbox. BTW what was the difference between the PAD8A and BIPAD8 other than the number of jacks? Was the BIPAD8 an updated version?
Thanks,
Paul

Re: CP4-R password reset

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

I believe so. If it doesn¡¯t automatically open Crestron Home Setup after logging in on the iPad browser, then you can simply download it from the App Store & discover the CP4-R on the network. I¡¯m pretty sure you don¡¯t need a crestron dealer login for downloading it.?

Thank you. Just to be clear, I can access the CP4R via an iPad web browser (being in the same network of course) after this password reset - and then the iPad will open crestron home setup?
This is important because I don¡¯t have a crestron login and can therefore not access the other desktop software.

thank you

We¡¯ve been selling a lot of Yealink for Zoom and Teams. Great product line and very integrator friendly. As a dealer, we make much better margins on Yealink vs. Logitech, and support is far superior. You can add custom controls to Yealink touch panel with support for Q-Sys, Extron, or AMX control systems. This integration is done by loading an HTML5/CSS page to the panel that talks directly to the control system. I¡¯d imagine it could be made to work with Crestron control as well using this method.?
Neal,
Thanks for the recommendation. Yealink does look like it has a pretty scalable range of products, which I don't think that Logitech has (important because I have a few larger rooms to deal with...)
A couple questions/concerns:
1. They have no phone number on the website, so I'm waiting for them to *bless* me with a call back...? Does support provide a phone number once you're dealing with the product or is it just thru email?
2. do they have US-based distribution and support or? via China?
3. Do you have any concerns with this being a China-based company?

TIA!
