So for what it’s worth, we just did two of these exact displays and could never get the 232 to work. Tried everything including usb to 232 adapter. ?Never found a solution to keep the port awake.

I use RS232 to control my LG OLED65C8P. The connection has been rock solid for me. It's connected to Digi PortServer TS 8. I not think I had to make any special changes to the TV's default settings.

Which type of panel are you trying to emulate? I’ve had it be very hit or miss (more miss than hit) for odd things like iPads (not surprised – actually a little surprised it worked at all ever)
