Re: Simple text output window
One way would be to write a SIMPL+ program to load just enough to not overflow you text box and display just the end of the text. Shouldn't be too hard to write. It will however take longer to load as you will have to refresh the whole page every time new text comes in.
Also, while I have not tried it, there is a Scrollable Text widget in VTPRO that may do what you want it to do. |
Re: CP3/PRO3 - Setup Webpage "Requested URL was not found"
Like Steve said, it may because you updated the firmware.? I've downgraded a CP3 just recently just so I could access the webpage without having to load the latest version of toolbox or spin up a Windows 10 VM running Edge.?
The new method looks like it will only run from a Windows 10 running Edge and then when you load the setup webpage, it ask you to download an Xpanel project -- at least that is what it is like on the CP4R.? So for I have not been able to get it to work from Firefox or Chrome. I believe Microsoft is planning to discontinue flash before the end of the year.? I just spinned up a Windows 10 VM and confirm that I can still access the setup page.? While my VM does have the latest security updates that came out last week, it does not have the latest feature updates which you can delay for up to a year if you have Windows 10 Pro.? It may be those feature updates that is preventing you from access the setup page. All web browser and flash downloads installed over that last few years will stop working on January 1 whether you update date them or not. At least, that is what I have read. As I mention in a previous post,? I have a copy of Linux Mint 17.3 that I pulled out of the archives.? I imaged on to a USB thumb drive, booted my computer with it and confirm it has flash preinstalled.? This version of flash is old enough that it doesn't have an expiration date.? Nor is there any of this stuff asking you if you want to run flash.?? I rolled the clock to the year 2025 and it still worked.? You don't have to worry about the web browser or the OS going out and bricking it -- just don't run updates.? Of course you don't want to surf the Internet with this thing.? But for accessing Autonomic, Crestron, or other IOT devices that use flash, it is perfect. I have since sandbox it in a VM with no access to my other system resources and will just blow it out after each use.? And unlike Windows, it only uses about 800MB of ram so I can run it while running a Windows VM for Crestron software.? And you don't have to worry about any licensing issues if you transfer your VM to another machine or install it from scratch on another computer.? Shoot, you aren't even asked to agree to any terms and conditions. Here is a link to download it if anyone is interested: |
CP3/PRO3 - Setup Webpage "Requested URL was not found"
On every CP3 & PRO3 ive done recently ive not been able to get to the processor "setup" webpage.
Always used to go to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/setup but I cant get it to work anymore. We have authentication enabled so get asked for the username & password but then just get a blank white page with "The requested URL was not found." Crestron tried to tell me its because Windows are discontinuing the support of Flash so the Xpanel wont work any more, but as flash isnt dicontinued until end of the year that doesnt make much sense to me! Any ideas? |
Re: Enttec DIN-ODE MK2
Use an AnalogDivMod. Just use the "quotient" value for your 8-bit DMX values.
If your DMX device supports 16-bit data (hi-byte/lo-byte address pairs), you can get full level resolution doing this (you can actually just feed the original analog signal into the second address of a pair when doing 16-bit DMX, instead of using the "remainder" signal since only its low byte gets transmitted anyway, which is exactly what causes the "fluctuation" you're seeing, but this is neater imo): |

Each port is independent. If you remove these connectors often, it's good to have a puller -- basically, a pair of tweezers with the tips bent over. Tip: pull from the front of the connector where it meets the machine. If the puller slips, you can pull the back of the phoenix connector off. This doesn't destroy the connector but you've just pulled the back off :) Wayne |
Simple text output window
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi, i?m a bit stuck on a problem which i thought tob e easy¡ I?ve got a device that spits out ASCII text via RS232. I want to display the output of the device on a wallpanel in a text box. Output starts with the first line, then just adds additional text received on the next line. When the bottom of the text box is reached, top line gets kicked out and the whole output moves one line up (like a standard terminal window). ? I?m collecting the device?s output using a serial gather, then using a text append. This is send out to a Formatted Text object on the Touchpanel. Works until the text box is full, then additional output is invisible, since the content doesn?t move up. ? I?m sure there must be an easy solution for this¡ ? Cheers, Thorsten |
Re: SG 2.15.08.23 - weather object not working
Yes, SmartGraphics 2.15.08.23 definitely breaks the weather objects. Maybe it's intended to fix them after 12/31, but for now it breaks them. I tried it on two different touchpanels and an X-Panel, with the same results. Rolling back to 2.15.08.21 restored the weather (for now).

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýMake sure that you are feeding it the right analog range like maybe it needs 0 to 255 instead of 0% to 100%.? Sent from my pocket computer . . . |
SG 2.15.08.23 - weather object not working
compiled xpanel & tsw-770 with new SG
weather object doesn't work tsw-750/52 that haven't been updated, weather object still works i read the bulletin about the weather object not working at the end of Dec, but didn't see anything about it breaking with the new SG |
Re: Please Help with IR Emitter output Pro 2 completely stumped and frustrated :)
Thanks for the great feedback Hngrdg, ?I am hoping it is not a port failure. ?Unfortunately my programmer has become very busy over the last few years to do these minor tweaks for him. I think he is a great guy and awesome programmer but just has outgrown small residential jobs unfortunately. I had a similar problem happen to me withy Bipad ?where one of the ports stopped working so I did have him a few years ago move it from port 4 to 10, and instantly it had started working. When my new emitters come in and I get the previous three ports wired up I am hoping everything should work if not I will then try your Apple phone trick
" Just to recap press a command on ML600 and look at Emitter with iPhone camera in selfie mode ?select FaceTime and see if it flashes? " As for having Stripped wire going to the correct port, after 15 hours of trouble shooting I am pretty sure I had tried every combination possible, that being said I could've made a mistake you never know? I was curious I can test each port for example E,F,G,H separated with a two plug Phoenix connector they don't have to be all plugged in at the same time with 8 pin Phoenix connector, I assume every signal port is independent of each other ?? Thanks Again Oil Country |
Re: Please Help with IR Emitter output Pro 2 completely stumped and frustrated :)
During my maintenance of about a hundred systems over 20 years I have encountered three or four IR port failures, so it does happen even though it's a rare event. My solution was always to move the device to a free port and reprogram the system. Easy peasy unless you're not the programmer and that guy has disappeared :(
When you swapped a working emitter to PV1 in step 2, did you make sure that the striped lead was going to pin "S" on the IR port? (Someone else already mentioned this.) Also, the output of these emitters is not very robust (compared to actual remote controls) so the diodes have to be positioned right over the IR sensors on your devices. Failure to do this may explain why everything stopped working. I have never damaged an emitter or a port by unplugging the phoenix connectors. Frankly, I think it's cheap of Crestron to sell products with 8-pole phoenix connectors on the IR port bank instead of four 2-pole connectors. Anyway, you can buy bags of connectors from Newark Electronics (newark.com.) For the PRO2 you want ones with 3.5mm pitch. They're very inexpensive. If you have an iPhone, open the camera app, select the facetime button to turn on the selfie camera, and hold the emitter over the camera, You will see it flashing when a signal is being sent. (Apple filters IR light from the rear camera.) Android cameras should also work unless they filter IR. |
