CrestronApp prob. H264 stream (android)

?

Hi,

I?m struggling with video streams in the Crestron android app. I have a few different IP cameras (Lilin, Grandstream, Axis) in a small local network. I can play the H264 streams of all cameras via rtsp in VLC on any PC or android device in the LAN. Also a Synology DiskStation is recording the streams. That works like a charm.

In the Crestron app, I?m using the ¡°Embedded video¡± app. There is a 50:50 chance that the stream will play, if not, the window just stays black. What helps now and then, is switching to any other app and back to Crestron. The behavior is the same on half a dozen phones and tablets, running on different android versions. I have simplified things that far, that only one page, containing the ¡°embedded video¡± with URL etc. preset, ?is in the app project and nothing running on the connected series2 or 3 processor.

Is it just me, or..? I didn?t try iOS yet, costly experiment, since the full version of the app is needed.

Any good hint, before I look into how to launch an external stream player from the CrestronApp???

?

?

thx.

Re: iPhone X Resolution

No, the Crestron App still uses the iPhone 5 resolution plus it will be letterboxed on iPhone X.

Re: Problem opening files after recovering them SIMPL

I've also tried opening these files on another computer but no luck. The size of the files don't even match the size they should be :(

I've since moved all files I still have (which I had backed up to a few google drive accounts to a cloud storage and I now work straight out of that cloud storage so it automatically syncs everytime I save the files

Re: Problem opening files after recovering them SIMPL

When I opened in Notepadd++ it didn't read as it should...

I had nul nul nul nul etc

Re: Problem opening files after recovering them SIMPL

I have had my share of corrupted files over the last 20+ years, more often on SSD drives than mechanical drives.? MEMEO Backup has saved my behind several times, runs real-time and creates new backup every-time file changes; the hard-drive space that gets used up is worth it.? I'm sure there are others out there that function as well.? It is nice to have it rolling at all times so I don't "forget".? Allows me to do Primary drive to secondary drive in the field, to the NAS drive and Cloud automatically when I dock it at the office.

The folks here are right gotta keep multiple copies multiple locations.? Hopefully you are not making duplicates of the corrupted version.

Re: Problem opening files after recovering them SIMPL

I've had something similar to this happen. One thing to try is to download Notepad++. Then right click on your .smw file and select "Edit with Notepad++". Once it opens in the editor, go to edit->EOL Conversion and select "Windows (CR LF)". Then press save and try opening it again in Simpl. Hopefully that helps.

Re: Problem opening files after recovering them SIMPL

Did you try opening the files on a different PC? Same thing has happened to me a few times over the years, especially vtp files. The only thing that made the PC work with the Crestron software again was a reformat of the OS drive and a software reinstall.

Re: iPhone X Resolution

Anything changes on this front in terms of iPhone resolution? In the process of redoing our iPhone interface. Been using the iPhone 5 version in VTP uptil now.

Re: Auto-populate Signal names to modules

Double click the module, select any of the signal names and press "shift + control + B"

Re: Sudden nk.exe error in DIN-AP3

Absolutely?
Change your password on your router and turn auth on your processor?
Then spoof your ports on your firewall don't use the normal ports Numbers externally. please follow read the crestron security guide.
Remember?the long the password Meeting basic [A-Z,a-z, 0-9, Special?Characters,?+20 Digits is pretty secure.?]

good luck and may the force be with you?

If the program has work for years without issues, than most likely it is something external that is causing the error -- most likely something on the network.

The most obvious question is do you have an of you DIN-AP3 ports exposed to the Internet.? If you do, it is most likely caused by someone trying to hack into your Crestron processor.? While you used to be able to forward ports to the Internet, that is no longer the case -- particularly in the case of the Series 2 and Series 3 Crestron processors.

AV Master,
I've successfully done 3 Lutron integrations in the last few months. If you'd like another set of eyes to look in, I'd be happy to help sometime this week.

HEOS module - source feedback and grouping functions

Hey all!

We are using a Denon HEOS multiroom system in our home. The crestron system (RMC3/TSW752) is expanded with MP-B10 Keypads in each room, so we don't need our smartphones to control the music.?

The module from the application market works well but most functions are more or less basic. And to use the MP-B10 buttons and LEDs we need digital input and output signals. By telnetting with the Denon CLI protocol into the system I use some additional digital input functions like?
- source selection (local sources, USB drive, playlists, favorites)
- zone volume instead of group volume

Now I want to expand the telnet SIO with true "selected source" feedback to illuminate the Source-LED on the MP-B10 panels. A further todo is setting up the grouping functionality.?
My attempt is to get the informations by using serial substrings of the telnet rx$ but this would be a lot of work, I think.?

Has anyone of you done some additional programing to the basic modules and likes to share some ideas?

Thank you!

Regards
Peter

Re: Lutron QS

If it was "easy", anyone could do it.

Lutron QS and Crestron have been integrated successfully THOUSANDS of times, so there are only three possibilities...

1. The Lutron processor is defective.
2. There's a programming error that's been overlooked.
3. The information that's been reported so far is inaccurate.

Although possible, #1 is EXTREMELY unlikely, considering the lights are still working otherwise. That leaves #2 or #3, and those can be cleared up by answering a couple more questions. Let's start with - EXACTLY which module(s) are you using (again)?

Re: Lutron QS

Lutron supports these modules have you reached out to them?

Re: Lutron QS

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

I have crestron and lutron at my house. ? Almost all the time it works fine. ?But I¡¯ve had the situation where If I reprogram the lutron homeworks qs processor it¡¯s then the crestron won¡¯t connect to it. ? The weird thing is that I can login to the qs processor itself via web and via designer but crestron gets caught in a loop where it never connects to the lutron via IP.?

It¡¯s a while since I¡¯ve had it happen. But it¡¯s always been fixed by just rebooting the homeworks qs processor. ?I¡¯ve never had to reboot crestron to make it work. ?

Don¡¯t know if that helps.?

So basically after I¡¯ve made changes to the lutron programming I need to upload the changes which reboots the processor. ?But then reboot it manually again. ?I don¡¯t remember if I had to stop crestron from trying to connect while I rebooted lutron.?
