Controlled Kettle

Does anyone know of a kettle that can be controlled via Crestron?

Re: Interlogix alternative

Nevermind¡ I found the news of Interlogix exiting the alarm business. That is disappointing.

For those of you that do Residential, what are your go to security systems now that GE Interlogix is no longer an option?? Our company is partnered with a security company and we work closely with each other.? We have been looking into DSC as an option, but I'm told that the old Powerseries stuff is not the best option and their new Neo series is better but it only support IP control.? I've seen that Control 4 has an integration partnership with DSC and I think if Crestron wants to have any chance at being competitive with their new Home OS3 (or traditional SIMPL programming).? But if there's another option, I'd love to hear it.? I'll mention, we don't work with HAI any more lol, they were so unreliable.

We use DSC models that are on the CH list of alarm products that are compatible.

Needed the DSC serial module. Wired to serial port of CP4-R. Was interfaced after discovery immediately. No problems.

Re: Crestron Certified Drivers - Fire TV 4K CEC - no control

I also switched from a FireTV to a Roku Ultra after changes killed the really nice module from the files section for the FireTV.??

The Crestron certified module works great.? It is fast and reliable.? I couldn't say the same for the Roku modules I tried from the file section.? That being said I am using one of the modules from the file section with the Crestron certified module for direct app selection so, for example, a single button press can navigate to Youtube.??

I remember that there was talk of the Crestron certified module being updated to support app selection but, since what I'm doing is working perfectly, I haven't kept up to see if there is a newer version.

Hope this helps

Jay

If you simply unplugged and plugged the HDMI back into the original FireTV it also may have worked because it should renegotiate the CEC handshake.? I used a FireTV 4K at home from when it was released, until a few weeks ago when I replaced it with a Roku Ultra, and it made me realize how slow and buggy the FireTV products are.? I didn't bother integrating it with Crestron at home, because I don't have DM, and it still had to be rebooted pretty often.? The device isn't even powerful enough to stream HD videos from remote Plex servers.

Re: Crestron Certified Drivers - Fire TV 4K CEC - no control

Well, the FTV is fine for me for some basic stuff mostly for the kids. Content is included in Amazon Prime and the device is cheap. Never had an issue with lock-ups (also 1st gen FTV). So no need to switch for me.
And as long as there are customers who would like to integrate it, it will be a topic to be discussed.

Re: Crestron Certified Drivers - Fire TV 4K CEC - no control

Jnardone_PDX +1 for me as the 4K FireTV stick has been working great over CEC with my 8x8, and I have the same occasional problem with it locking up and needing to be rebooted. Searching the internet, it looks like FireTV's are known to occasionally stop responding over CEC for some reason. I wasn't sold on it being a FireTV issue thinking it might be a Crestron issue but I wound up? confirming its the FireTV by waiting until mine locked up and then moving the HDMI cable over to a 2nd FireTV and Crestron controlled the other unit just fine, which proved it was the FireTV.

Re: Crestron Certified Drivers - Fire TV 4K CEC - no control

CEC control of Fire TV 4K sticks using the "Crestron Certified Drivers Video Server CED v1.1"? has been rock solid for me.? In one configuration I have the FireTV 4K installed in a DMC-4KZ-HD in a DM-MD8x8 and another directly in a DM-MD6x4.? ?I have noticed that if FireTV 4K does stop responding, you need to power cycle the FireTV 4K stick to get it to respond.? I use up, down, left, right, select, exit, home, and menu.

Lifesize ICON 450 - Crestron control

Has anyone controlled a Lifesize ICON 450 via IP or is anyone aware if the current Crestron modules for ICON800 will control the ICON450?

Re: two small conference rooms

My vote is for Barco Clickshare because it doesn't need a LAN connection (only if you want to) and avoids the issue of a residential client's internet going down. Plus it's only a one time payment!

Re: StarLeaf 5250 GTm Codec interfacing

Did you ever get this figured out?

We just recently did a deployment of 3 GTm 5250 codecs and are finding that in one room, the module works perfectly and allows the user to place audio and video calls using Teams. In the other 2 rooms, it allows you to make a call, but then immediately hangs up. The code for the other two rooms is identical to that of the first that is 100% working.?

Cannot seem to figure out what the issue could be. If you found anything out on your journey with this, I would love to hear!

Re: Videostorm IRUSB

DM is not always available.
But in case it is, that?s could be a good option, thanks.

If all you¡¯re doing is sending keystrokes why not just use the USB HID port on the DM endpoint? That is one of the few things the port is truly useful for and doesn¡¯t require any extra hardware (save for, of course, the USB cable)

I know the FLIRC, but using IR is exactly what i would like to avoid with using the IRUSB. Communication using the IRUSB is LAN-only.

I have found these 2 pieces to work the best to control a fire stick:

FLIRC -???

OTG Cable -?

FLIRC allows you to set any ir signal to perform a function of the fire stick remote.??

Re: NVX Basic Config #crestron

Like Jeremy said, you just send analog values to the NVX Rx's that represent the transmitter index in the subscription list.? The index is similar to an input # on a normal DM at this point.? When I did this not long ago, I made all the subscription lists on the Rx's match, so all the transmitters were the same order, so you can treat the whole NVX system like a normal DM switcher, and the input numbers match across all the Rx's (which they don't have to, but logically, it's easier that way).

The subscription lists are created on the NVX itself, using the web setup interface.? IIRC, you can create the list on the first Rx, and then export that list, and import to other Rx's so you don't have to create them? from scratch on each Rx.? The subscription list was stupid easy to make, as the Rx already detects all the Tx's in the network, and shows them in a list, so all you have to do is add/remove them from the list and setup the order you want them in.
