QSC Q-SYS String Value Module - Polling?

This is a crosspost from the Reddit...?

The Q-SYS modules are all pretty straightforward, but I can't figure out how to poll or get the String Value Module to report feedback without sending an initial value, for instance when the Core connects. I've tried pulsing and holding the [Poll Enable] join high. I am only sending analog values for a source router named control.

If I send the module a value, the feedback then reports... but I'd like that to just refresh on program start.

Thanks!

It seems like this IMS is more likely to be the correct one... but no smoking gun.

Welp, I saw my first one in the wild.

They work just fine after going into the secret menu and enabling the options for it. Still not sure what the hell they are. It says UART to 232. And the company on the back comes up as an electronics recycling company.

Re: Free Fusion

"Part of my gold exam was to program a Fusion system, and they wouldn't let me setup a free demo account to do my exam, so probably not."
You must be kidding!
That's like the BS numerous security companies practice where employees have to buy the company branded clothes?for ridiculous prices before getting on the first job.

How about Fusion seminars? Do they still hand-out VMs with a pre-installed Fusion server on an unlicensed Win2k12 server, good to go for 90 days or so?

Re: Free Fusion

This is what the release notes say:
New Features
  • Starting with 11.1.5000, a new install of Crestron Fusion no longer supports any connection without a license. The software requires a license to make any room connection.

So if you can get FSG to get you a version prior to 11.1.5 you should(?) be okay

Re: Max Number of SSH Modules ??

I attempted to reach out to coolaiddrinker directly, but haven't heard back. Does anybody have any more information about or access to this supposed v1.5 of the SSH module that improves CPU load?

I recently came across this very same issue and the latest version publicly available in the DB appears to be v1.3. I'm not trying to do the crazy 10-20 per processor, but really would like to be able to get more than the 5-6 I'm barely managing right now and any performance gains would be welcome.

Thanks!

Re: Biamp Tesira 3.0 modules connecting but no control or FB

Glad you had a good experience. We strive to keep our team aware and trained enough to support most common module questions. Beyond that, several of the Applications Engineers are able to dive deeper into debugging as needed. If we find something we cannot handle we can engage CCI. Don¡¯t hesitate to contact me/us through the proper support channels.

Re: Dynamic Video Switcher Widget

I like that idea, I may give that a shot. I have already built the subpages so it would just be a matter of laying them over the video switcher and updating the tex/icon to match.

thanks for the input.

Re: TSW-752 Help

We had a few spare SD Cards at the office from when we were dealing with 752 panels more. I swapped the SD Card and got the panel to react correctly, except the panel itself must have some sort of hardware issue also because it freezes up and reboots regularly. I'm going to return it to the seller. Thanks for the help.

You'll need to get a login on the Elk Products web site and download the protocol documentation for the alarm system. Re: Dynamic Video Switcher Widget

I just finalized a project with the same requirements. I laid out the switcher object as close as possible to the layout of the screen using the rows and columns feature. In our case it was a 4x2 video wall utilizing NVX. I created a few sub pages with a screen image object to simulate the different screen layouts, each sub-page screen layout has a large icon and adv text object to simulate the video switcher object. When the user drags an icon from the list, it gets dropped on one of the screens that's being covered by the sub-page. Then i make sure to change the icon and text on the sub-page to match.?

So the user is really dragging the image under the sub-page, but it's barley noticeable and works really well.
