Re: Laptop suggestion for Crestron and AMX
I'm using a Lenovo X1 carbon.. performs amazingly! Small display but I do all of my UI work at the office or at home on a larger monitor, then create a Theory of Operations document which the client

Re: TSW750 - play sound?
The file gets played when you trigger the FB input of the join. If using a button, in SIMPL connect the output from the join to the FB input. Plays fine on my 750.

Re: Laptop suggestion for Crestron and AMX
I'll second the MacBook Pro. I run in both Boot Camp and Parallels running the BootCamp partition. I like being able to run any Mac or PC software I like. Plus, since Mac's are very particular about

Digital Projection e-vision 4500
Hello all, I'm looking for a module for the e-vision 4500. Commands are different than the e-vision series module provided in the groups modules file. Does anybody have one? It would be much

Re: TSW750 - play sound?
I'd be interested in the answer to this too; I have a client with 2 TSW750s and have specified in the project properties the names of the MP3s and the joins to trigger the playing of these files. When

Re: Laptop suggestion for Crestron and AMX
I have an Asus i7 17" laptop. 16 gb ram, 5gb video, SSD main with hybrid secondary. Get as much ram as you can, makes a big difference. My desktop has 32gb and compiles much faster than my laptop.

Re: [OT] Fiber Terms - What are you using?
Recently got some training on UniCam after having done AFL exclusively. My feeling is that the UniCam tool does a much better job of positive indication that the fiber end-face is where it's supposed

Re: [OT] Fiber Terms - What are you using?
I think in many cases it comes down to Datacom installers being generally more plentiful and cheaper than AV techs ¨Cespecially if they¡¯re already hauling fiber through the building for IT, the

Re: [OT] Fiber Terms - What are you using?
I have been pleased with Liberty's SSF fiber. It's so easy even an AV tech can do it. ;)

Re: [OT] Fiber Terms - What are you using?
That's really disappointing. Pre-polished connectors can be done well in a couple minutes. I know they have their downsides... mostly on the cost side... but as relatively foolproof (with training) as

Re: [OT] Fiber Terms - What are you using?
It seems that most of my dealers have determined it¡¯s more cost effective and less trouble/failure prone to sub out fiber (where used ¨C I¡¯m still surprised by how relatively rare it¡¯s been) to

Re: Combinable / Divisible Rooms
There was a whole long thread on the topic but I'll restate my opinion here: I haven't needed crosspoints in my 12 years of Crestron programming. Remember, you don't need different signals for "dvd

[OT] Fiber Terms - What are you using?
The time has come when we need to start using fiber for DM, audio, and other video apps. I'm familiar with how to term fiber and the various methods, but I'm curious what products, connectors, term

Divisible rooms are tied with voting systems as by far my favorite single type of systems to program [as long as the engineers haven¡¯t tried getting overly cute with it (e.g. 2 CODECs shared against

Re: Combinable / Divisible Rooms
If you have multiple processors, don't split up the logic, centralize it all in one program. You'll thank me later. Don't use crosspoints unless you're already comfortable with them, stick to what you

Re: Laptop suggestion for Crestron and AMX
You don't need a ton of processing power for Crestron software, other than some programs being single threaded, where core speed will launch apps faster. Definitely get a SSD and 8GB RAM is fine. I
