Re: Crestron RJ11 Cables

6 pin is a RJ12.... but some solutions are......  a Crestron CN-RJ11,   a 4 conductor(RJ11) phone cable will work since pins 1,2 and 5,6 are tied together(use CNRJ11 manual for pinout) although the connection seating can be funky sometime, or a Crestron C2N-HBLOCK.

Why oh why didn't the ST series of control gadgets ever go to phoenix connectors?  Who has the answer?

No idea if these guys are reliable, but here's a source:

And another source (I have purchased from them in the past with no issues):

You need straight thru RJ-12 cables. Note that telephone cables are
crossover (and usually 4 conductor).

Re: Crestron RJ11 Cables

You may have some results with "3-line phone cable" as well, but you're really better off just making your own as the majority of "phone" cables (and thus the majority of cables you'll find on the open market) are "rolled" e.g. pins are reversed from end to end

1-->6
2-->5
3-->4
4-->3
5-->2
6-->1

Where Crestron gear requires a straight-through cable

1-->1 (+24V)
2-->2 (+24V)
3-->3 (Data Y)
4-->4 (Data Z)
5-->5 (Ground)
6-->6 (Ground)

As you can see from the pin assignments, rolling the cable would be undesireable...

Re: Brand Spankin New Processor with Program Loaded - WTF?

"A CP2E running a project with a Crestron employee's name in the header and the file name of "stupid relays.smw""

That is awesome!!

It has been a while since I have seen a "new" piece with something on it already. Just move on. As long as it works what difference does that really make? I know it "should not have it on there" but do you really want to spend time going back to site, not to mention all the time on the phone. Bothersome and should not be happening, yes, worth all the headaches, no. JMO.

Re: dish network IR modules

I think the question was raised because you referred to an "IR module" -
they're usually referred to as IR Drivers and modules are commonly used to
encapsulate logic to control a device via the serial port.

Re: Lutron QS Request Command <--Please someone help!!

It may work without the action specified, and default to action 1 on a query, but the protocol definitely shows the action being used with the query in their example.
