Re: serial text truncated in Debugger

if you mean the parameters at the bottom of the touchpanel symbol its 255d. Regardless I should see the whole string in debugger if all is well correct?

This has happened on the last 2 devices I was playing with (iport and mirage server) where the serial text is truncated to 11 and 5 characters respectively in debugger. There's no logic in between the modules and the panel to screw anything up. Its a direct connection. The metadata of the playing media is always truncated. Two completely separate projects, tried MSP and characters set to 255d. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

The door stop option sounds like the best use for those at this point :).

I have had this sort of thing with one of these but it always seems to come back to life eventually. I think the last time I connected to it via USB, reloaded the firmware, reloaded the program and it worked. There was no science to it though.

As a matter of fact, that is the exact model I went to. So far they seem to be working just fine. The only issue I have with them is that they tend to create errors no matter how close you have them to the transmitter. They don't crash the system, they just create errors. Something in the handshake is not completing. Hope this helps.

Have fun,

I just spent couple of dead hours figuring out, between Core 3 Stuff and
the Greta Ipad example, getting the idea how can i merge both, but
I ended up just checking out and whatnot... My impression was: I do TPS as
Main Page and activities> A/V Distribution with a bar for sources on top
below status bar. follow by button bar with rooms and volume at side. so
selecting room then Source brings the sub page of that source and volume.

trying adapt this environmental to core 3 and new Ipad layout with the
rotation example That somehow i cannot see the rotation manager on my
definition of Mobile device on SIMPL.

I decided not to pay that much attention to example cause i dont then to
code that way and its just an example with bunch of "Main" Pages. but what
to do when you have 30 Light loads? put 4 loads per subpage and keep
fliping? I need to bang my head in this....

Re: Crestron RJ11 Cables

You really need to use the 6P6C connector and six conductors. The single
conductor in a 4P can't carry the load for some devices. That said, I just
make my own. You can buy the crimping tool from Radio Shack which will do
6P and 8P ( part # 279-405) and the connectors in bulk from Lowes or Home
Depot for short money. It's not rocket science and in fact quite simple to
do. After you've done a few, you can make a cable in a couple of minutes.
The connectors are clear and the flat cable wires are color coded so you
can check your work with ease.

funky sometime, or a Crestron C2N-HBLOCK.

Why oh why didn't the ST series of control gadgets ever go to phoenix
connectors? Who has the answer?

I tried connecting to 3 different MC3's and they all produced the same results using 2 different computers running toolbox, one was XP and one Win 7.

Im working remotely. Maybe it was some ports outside the normal range of ports for Crestron ?

If you leave it long enough it will finally come up and say it was unable to connect..

I can do everything else just fine on the MC3. Only this tool will not work.. This is very annoying as a client needs to add some things to the Infinet network and I cant connect to do it..

Re: Brand Spankin New Processor with Program Loaded - WTF?

Dustin

I too have seen this many times. My personal favorite was an old Essentials class program running complete with web xpanel. It was from "Joe's Laptop" and Joe needed practice.

I would agree that if its working fine then what's the harm, however I usually do a couple things when this happens. 1) make sure the physical serial matches what's on the box / packing list. That's how they track when you bought it and thus the warranty period. I have found them not to match on previously opened product, so had I found issue later who knows what the warranty status would've been according to their system. If thats off, swap it or the confusion will never get sorted out. 2) if the serial is correct, call your rep and / or call / email tb about it. Indicate you'll keep it for now, but at least get it documented. (Either emails from the rep or a ticket number from tb). This will buy you extra leeway on the advanced replacement timeframe. At the first sign of hardware trouble, they'll swap no questions asked.
