Re: 3 Series File Ops
Correct. This is to do with the fact that the 3 series can support UTF-16 encoding.

Re: 3 Series File Ops
Having the _O_Text will not hurt the 2 series programs, it just ignores it so you do not need to write separate events for 2 or 3 series for that. though you may want to do the following #IF_SERIES2

Re: Control override funcionality
What I meant by 'depends on what you're using for remotes/UIs,' was that if you're using one-way remotes you won't have feedback as to the status of the kids remote & STB, no bearing on whether you

Re: Control override funcionality
I guess it depends on what you're using for remotes/UIs, but no reason to get S+ involved. Quick and easy: Pass all STB controls on kids remote through a buffer (buf). [enable] on the buffer is fed by

You need _O_TEXT instead of binary, and you're correct - this is new for the 3-series. - Chip

Opening as binary, with "Create", "Truncate", and "Write Only" flags as well. Am I correct that this wasn't present on the 2-Series?

Re: 3 Series File Ops
This isn't a mistake. It's part of a file signature. It's amazing that support can't even tell you something this basic. How are you opening the file - what mode? binary or text?

OT: When does (32873*65535)/45023 = 17990?
If you answered, "When using simpl+", you would be right. you have to store (32873*65535) as a Long_Integer before you divide. else it gives you -47545(aka 17990)

Well LG is the make of plasma with 232 I've had good experiences with. Can't recommend a specific model in that 5" range though.
