Re: Module Editing

Brian, I do believe it is your module that I am using. Thanks by the way.

I spoke to crestron yesterday and the tech I spoke with said this is something to do with their database as he spoke to another programmer that was having the same problem.

The work around he gave me was to add a second paramater in the audef, copy the original audef and add a "1" to the end of it. Then copy the SIO and edit the strings to what they should be, then add the "1" to the end of the parameter field.

If it was my module you were trying to edit, I uploaded a slightly updated version, which fixed the error I think you are having as well as a few more inputs.
As far as editing the module, it is a bit of a known issue where you have to temporarily edit the parameter properties and change from 'Value List' to 'Allow all values'. You can close that window however and the list will still be there when you go to change it back.

If - on the defargs - the parameter "ID" is defined as a string type, you shouldn't be getting that error, but sometimes you can get seemingly out of place error messages like that, unfortunately.

Thanks Chip,

One of the strings I want to edit is "mc \[#ID\] 40\x0D" I need the string to read "xb \[#ID\] 40\x0D" but as soon as I try to edit the string I get the INVALID ENTRY message.

Sounds like you're trying to enter a value (preceded with a # symbol) that matches an existing parameter definition in the module's "Defargs" symbol. If you want to use a # without referencing a parameter value, I believe you need to use \x23 in its place. There might be another shortcut/workaround, but it's not coming to me.

If you gave us an example of the string you're trying to put in, we might be able to give you a more concise answer.

I have an LG TV module that I am trying to edit the serial strings on the SIO but I am getting a popup "INVALID ENTRY This is a Reference parameter and the matching parameter in this macro's Argument Definition does not support the type required by this parameter. (For more info, refer to the status bar or right click on this parameter and View the defined properties)

How can I edit the serial strings within the module?
