UC-MX50-T design question
Have a client who has a few conference rooms going in. We had specified the UC-MX50-Z as the best solution. Now client would like to add a dedicated PC at each TV.
Does anyone have a good idea on how to make this work from an audio perspective? Meaning, all of the audio gets distributed to the table top unit and I can't think of a clean way to do any really switching etc. I was thinking possibly a HD-MD4X1-4KZ-E that could manage the last device in concept, but I don't think that would be manageable as the. client would need to unplug sources to get things lined up. |
NVX USB Routing
For any one that is interest I've just commissioned NVX USB Routing, working with a Logitech Camera and Shure P300 going through a USB hub.
Equipment: 1 x NVX-363 (as USB Remote as Decoder) (Logitech Camera and Shure P300 connected to USB Hub then into USB-A Host port) 1 x NVX-360 (as Local as Encoder for BYOD) (NVX USB-C port) 1 x NVX-360 (as Local as Decoder for Client PC)?(NVX USB-C port) 1 x MBeat USB 3.0 hub. Is USB 2.0 compatible. I found that USB-C to USB-C cables would not work for the Local ends, had to use USB-C (NVX-360 end) to USB-A (BYOD and Local PC ends) Using the Serial joins on the Simpl Windows NVX? block to perform Auto Join Routing Layer 2 MAC Addresses This was for UC Soft Conferencing system. System Uses Shure MXA910 ceiling Mic and Ceiling Speakers running off Shure P300. I also used the Dante TX on the NVX-363 to route HDMI audio back into P300 for users who wont use USB audio, for local presentations. Hope this helps any one trying to something simular. |
Construct and XPanels
Working on creating my first XPanel in Construct. I'm using a project that has resolutions for TSW-760, TS-770, and TS-1070 panels and it works great on those panels. How do I specify which resolution the XPanel uses? When I open it in my web browser some elements look like they're using the TSW-760 breakpoints and other elements are using the TS-770/TS-1070 breakpoints. Things are all over the place on the XPanel.
?
Also, is there a way to open the XPanel on my local PC without having to host it on the processor using "Web Pages and Mobility Projects?" How do you set the connection settings? I found under Project Properties where you set the XPanel IPID but there's no option to set the processor IP address. I wish the documentation wasn't so thin for this program. |
Re: Add device passcode to Crestron TS-1070 Touch panel?
If you have a programmed system already then you need to do programming in your simpl code and make pages in VTPro to make that happen.??If it is a new system our??software??nVision Hydra has that feature built in it is just a check box to enable and set passcode. |

Hey Bob, Whist this option disabled, you should then see the NVX device pass-through the DHCP service and provide your display an IP address in the same VLAN as the NVX unit. I would also suggest to connect the display via the Copper RJ45 Port 2 connection.? |

I tried to connect a CAT6 cable to port1 or port 2 on the NVX 351 (receiver) to get a direct internet connection for the smart TV's. ?I do not get an IP address from either port. ?I tried changing the management port to port 1 or 2 but then I lose the IP address completely on the NVX 351. ?Any thoughts? |
Re: Add device passcode to Crestron TS-1070 Touch panel?
There is nothing built into the panels.
You have to change the program and panel to create a password protection. In other words, you have to get the person that programmed the system to add this feature or if you know how to program you need the source code and add it yourself. |
Re: Add device passcode to Crestron TS-1070 Touch panel?
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI have key code protected settings pages on all our touch panels in our classrooms here at Dalhousie University. ? I am using: Password Logic (fixed pwd) (cm) module OR gate Simple_timer_v1_0_1 (cm) module ? Create a start page. When pressed it will take you to a keycode page with the Simple Keypad (Smart Object ID=1):v1 you add in your VTPro layout. ? Have the keypad numbers and CLR go to the inputs on the Password Logic (fixed pwd) (cm) module. Have them also go to an OR gate. Have the touch panel start page press also go to the OR gate. This starts the timer and brings up the keycode page. ? The panel-change output of the Password Logic module (Key Code Accepted) will go to the cancel input of the simple_timer module. The output of the OR gate (Keypad Activity) will go to the start input of the Simple_Timer. The timer_active output of the Simple_Timer (Code Page Activated) will activate your keycode subpage so the user can input the password. The output of the Password Logic module panel-change (Key_Code Accepted) will also go to an Analog Initialize module to activate the page you wish the user to get to after entering the correct password. ? Theory of operation: User touches anywhere on the screen of the touch panel. A user keycode page with a keypad pops up. If the user does nothing, the page reverts back to the start page after 6 seconds. While the user is entering the pass code numbers, the keycode page will stay active. If the password is entered correctly, the user is taken to your preferred landing page. If the password is entered incorrectly, nothing happens, they have the opportunity to clear and try again or after 6 seconds of inactivity, the keycode page reverts back to the start page. ? The Password Logic Module has the following parameters: TPID: ID number of the panel you are using. TPFIELD: the join number of the indirect text display, if using. PASSWORD: the numbers you wish to use. ? The Simple Timer has the following parameters: TIME: 6 seconds ? Hope this helps. ? -David |

I¡¯ve done one, it¡¯s just a full screen subpage that covers up the main menu screen and goes invisible when the correct passcode is entered.? Topics in Home Automation - New Article in Residential Tech Today
I believe that health and wellness is an important function of smart home technology.? With this in mind, and that people are looking for help fulfilling their new year's resolutions for fitness, my latest article looks at using a vibration plate to help people exercise and achieve their fitness goals at home. However, a vibration plate goes beyond being just a tool for exercise.? It has a host of additional medical benefits though you need to make sure it is safe for you.
You can find the article here: For those interested in earlier articles that I've written, you can find those here: I've found a new site to host my blog so for those that want to see even more content I've written about smart home technology you can find that using the link below. The process of exporting all my old content from Blogger and importing it into WordPress was far from perfect. So there are formatting issues with old posts and images that didn't import. I will see what I can do about correcting some of these issues over time. Thanks |
Java preventing VTP projects from opening
TB just helped me fix this one, but I'd thought I'd throw it out here in case it hits anyone else. Visiontools suddenly stopped opening my projects, it would just give me "Error! Cannot create project. Flash player is not installed." I updated VisionTools and Smart Graphics to no avail.? The fix was to uninstall Java.? TB thinks a recent windows update caused it.? Hopefully this will save someone a couple hours and a headache.

Re: Kaleidescape CoStar with NVX . . .
Instead of adding another 363, why not just replace the existing 363 with a 351. Use the dual HDMI inputs of the 351 and ditch the costar. Use the signals in the Kaleidescape module to determine which input on the 351 to switch to. This is how I set it up at one of the engineers house, who works at Kaleidescape.?
