Geof is right, maybe there is something with the content, try to see if there are any differences in the format (4K HDR, HD, FULL HD)? of the content you are trying to reproduce, for example:
4K Movie = OK
Full HD Movie = OK
4K HDR = OK
4K Dolby vision?= black screen

Audio Taper

 

Hi All,

Has anybody written an audio taper module? I have a demanding client that has an installation with WAAAAY too many Bose ESP processors and they want audio taper functionality.

I have tried mapping in S+ using a formula I found online, but it is clunky and kinda opposite to what we want.

The rear USB port goes to the video board and the front USB port goes to the Control board. You can use rcon commands to to get to the video board (slot 9) from the control board USB port but I am trying right now with one in my office and I do not seem to be able to get to the control board from the video board USB port. I'm sure TruBlue support could walk you through what you can do from the video board.?

IIRC the front and rear USB go to physically different places (the front to the video board and the back to the CPU board or something like that ¨C or maybe I¡¯m thinking of the DMPS-not3-300-C ¨C but there are differences in what can be done from the front and rear USB ports.

So the front panel will not work. Only when I access the rear USB and restore and initialize does the front panel say "Rebooting". It just hangs after that. I can access the entire console from the rear USB but not the front.

If I had an image for this, I could start fresh with a new 4GB SD Card.

If the Apple TV is configured for 720P/SDR, it should (will) not try to send higher resolutions and/or HDR.

Your post prompted me to look at the adcp protocol. ?

I want to switch to it myself because it will give temperature feedback which I don¡¯t think the pjlink protocol will provide. ? My projector is in an enclosed ventilated hush box and I¡¯m paranoid about the ventilation fans failing and frying the projector.?

I have a site with this projector, controlled via RS-232 thru a DM-RMC-4KZ-100-C room box (50' from the rack). It's been installed for about a couple years...
Though I do not remember having this issue initially, for the last year, we have had a condition where after ~1-3 weeks, it will stop responding to commands and also the RX/feedback stops.

Sony support says that this is common when you have both RS-232 and IP connections simultaneously, which we did, though the IP connection was only for management and Domotz pinging...We noticed that Domotz would see a tremendous amount of network Up/Down states, and then often it would just go down and stay down...
Though I think the issue with having IP and Serial connections being a problem is bogus for a professional product, we have disconnected the IP connection.

Still we've seen the issue, and it requires a hard-boot to restore the serial communications...
Anyone else see this kind of behavior??? I have another site with a 715 that we have not seen this issue with....

ADCP is just another control protocol that the Sony projectors support, besides PJLink (which is used by the Crestron module).

Hi,

i think it?s an HDCP issue. The ATV plays out HDCP 2.2 content and i would think the projector (and/or AVR) will only support HDCP 1.4.

This can be fixed by using an HDFury Linker.

I've been working remotely with a client that is having an issue with playback or *SOME* content on Netflix and A-Prime.
Though many titles play fine, some titles will start to play but only provide audio and a black screen with subtitles. Very weird...
This new Apple TV was put into an older media room (~10 years old), about a month ago and has not seen much/any use until now.
I've insured that the unit is on the latest tvOS (v16.2 I think) and hard-booted it.? no fix...
Because of the age of the AVR/Projector, the Apple TV is set to 720p/SDR.

Anyone else seeing issues like this??

Hello!

Please check if the content has HDR or Dolby Vision, those contents need a specific HDMI cable, which could be why you see a black screen.

Did Crestron release any information about a future Matter support?
Might be more Home OS related than my regular commercial playgrounds but I'm about to change jobs and Matter, maybe even Thread, could be of interest there.

Apple TV 4K, Gen.3 (Latest) video issue

 

Hi All,
I've been working remotely with a client that is having an issue with playback or *SOME* content on Netflix and A-Prime.
Though many titles play fine, some titles will start to play but only provide audio and a black screen with subtitles. Very weird...
This new Apple TV was put into an older media room (~10 years old), about a month ago and has not seen much/any use until now.
