Re: Overview of Crosspoints - How and Why to Use Them

I only said it becuase I have seen in the past people commenting about
things that seemed to work in 3 but were officially supported in 4
(like params) and I always fear that they're going to use unsupported
things in production systems. As far as a list of things that were
changing... well... I mean the release notes do a good job of that for
the most part (generally) but I think we're talking about apples and
oranges - it started off as talking about what's unsupported but
changed to what's, um, changed :)

By the way - what about the S+ reference name...????

I certainly wouldn't suggest that we all start using unsupported
features in client's systems but I know lots of us are curious about
what's in the pipeline and like to tinker with things on our own
systems. Crestron's already messed with the S+ Reference Name and
CUZ4 and those were released so I certainly respect the fact that
things change, although it'd be nice if we got a notice that things
were changing.

I really hope you're kidding about "undocumented" and "incomplete"
symbol features. What Lincoln is seeing is something that's hidden,
and if you use, it you use it at your own risk and is even subject to
being removed in future CUZ's. Don't we have enough issues without
CLEARLY using something that is hidden? And FYI, Crestron will tell
you that it's unsupported... go fish.

So what magic trick did you use to get those to show up Lincoln?
Don't we all like picking apart undocumented and incomplete
features?
Then we can get Crestron to get it right before they release it
prematurely.

Maybe its time to re-open my complaint about the digitals being
cleared and see if that gets me anywhere. It sure would be nice to
have it addressed.

Somehow I've got three different CCR and ECR symbols. One
ends in
"...Routing", one in "...Routing v2" and yet another is
"...Routing."

Just two of the ECCC. One with a period, one without. No v2.

Weird.

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain... If you aren't
seeing
it and it's not documented I'm pretty sure it doesn't
officially
exist. Mea culpa for mentioning if.

Lincoln, where are you seeing these v2 crosspoint symbols?
I'm
running all of the latest software (from ftp beta) and
don't see
them
anywhere.
