I agree with you Jeff. This doesn't seem to be a problem related to
the number of fonts. I experienced this imideately after I got my new
Vista laptop. The old one (with XP) does not hang (at least not for
more than a couple of seconds) at the point where the Vt-pro compiles
the fonts.
So - my conclution is that this is could be a Vista related problem.

I think that every font and every size you use adds to the compile time. If you use ariel in
8pt, 10pt, 14pt and 18pt it takes the same time as compiling 4 different fonts. I'm not
using Vista, I'm using WinXP under VMware on a Mac. I think during the summer they
changed something in the way VTPROe compiles fonts for TPS touchpanels.
I was working on a TPMC-8X yesterday and it was such a pleasure to have it compile in
just a few seconds.
The long complie time for the TPS panels isn't that big of an issue except when I'm trying
to debug or when I'm dealing with multiple panels in a system.
