If you made a cable that has pins 4 & 6 connected between each end
and you're plugging it into a AV/Pro's com ports, that's bad. If it's
working, I'm glad to hear it - but pins 4 & 6 on most Crestron gear
(The QM-RX is an exclusion that comes to mind) are NOT RS232 signals
and can threaten to whackify your communications...
