DM Private Mode Pros/Cons

They are on different subnet but they see each other due to the mask set to 255.255.0.0

The default gateway are set to 10.100.0.1 on the processor port0 and on the videoboard port0. ?The videoboard port1 is on the pnm.

The system is set in static because client reserved the vlan 100 for his Crestron equipment.

Each device hostname are set has [building]-[wing][floor][room]-[type] like MAIN-A210-PROCESSOR and?MAIN-A210-VIDEOBOARD. ?For any other device like tp we use the same name structure but for the type we add the id#. MAIN-A210-UI03

For the iptable we use the hostname because client have reserved it into his network rules. This client is running stable for 3 years now.

How do you manage to put the processor and video board on different subnets, while they are on the same physical port?

?

we have a client who use different subnet for processor side and video board of the dmps

10.100.0.x. - processor
10.100.2.x - video

255.255.0.0

odd for building1 and even for building2

never have issue.

Hi all,

I am gearing up for a university install of about 30 rooms. Each will have a DMPS-300-C. I know these use two IP addresses and that Crestron recommends PNM. What are the disadvantages of PNM other than having to go through the switcher to manage Tx's and Rx's??

I assume that if I use the LAN port on an endpoint (for a Projector), it connects to the same network that the DM switcher card is on, and not behind the NAT?

Does anyone find using different subnets for each room useful? For example:

192.168.11.xx for Room 1

192.168.12.xx for Room 2 etc.

This way, I can say that every DMPS-300-C is 192.168.xx.5 and so on.?

The classrooms are not connected to each other from an AV standpoint. But, I would like to be able to manage all of them simultaneously.?

Any other pointers?
