Re: Charging accessory Battery
I've installed mine in the battery compartment. The output is attached where the 18V wire goes to the meter and accessories. I also replaced the meter with a 48v version. Bart C-Car@...>

Re: Charging accessory Battery
But one thing - if you have a stock contactor setup, you¡¯ll probably want a 24 to 12 dcdc, connected to one half of the pack. This is because 48v is not always available, depending on the position

Re: Charging accessory Battery
So the inverter would replace the 12v battery under the hood? Pretty easy to set up? I like both ideas the pros and cons for the inverter. I'll have to pursue it further. Thanks, Mark

Re: Charging accessory Battery
I prefer having the accessory battery for times I have the headlights, fan or stereo on for extended periods, such as car cruises that will not effect my range at all. Like I might cover 35 miles but

Re: Charging accessory Battery
So my 1977 citicar has a accessory battery under the hood. It does not charge off of the main charger or is not hooked up that way. I can hook up a trickle charger and plug that in separately to keep

Re: Charging accessory Battery
In the original Citicar, there was no accessory (12v) battery. They used part of the main pack to run 12v and 18v items. When they moved the batteries to the bumpers, a 12v accessory battery was

Re: Charging accessory Battery
A dead accessory battery would stop my car. No matter how much charge my 48v pack has. I use a cheap onboard charger from harbor freight wired to it permanently. So far so good. I'm not sure how it

Charging accessory Battery
Question. If my 12v accessory battery was dead, would it cause the car not to run? I Know it sounds like a dumb question. I know the 48v is what powers the electric motor. Also other than putting on a

Brakes not working update
It has been about 2 weeks since my brakes went out while driving. Turns out it ran low on fluid. I topped off with dot3 and flushed the system. Everything works well now. Wanted to fix this earlier

Re: Volt Meter /Fuel Gauge
I just used my Citicar (when it had 8v batteries) with 16v on the meter. It was low, as you noticed. It -might- be possible to put a small dc/dc converter in series with two of the batteries, and

Re: Volt Meter /Fuel Gauge
So that makes sense, if you have 6 volt batteries it¡¯s getting the voltage from 3 of the batteries (6 x 3 =18). It is telling you the state of those batteries which should be the same as the hole

Re: Troubleshooting no run
Thanks, I have definitely seen this wire before and I've put some stuff in and out of the trunk lately so that could be it! I'll check when I get home.
