Re: Stuff stuck in mail queue

P - Personal
K - Killed

It should not forward. Ask why was it killed?? WP messages should automatically be killed.? Something else?
?
?
In the web access to your node select Mail Mgmt, then Messages, Select the message. If there is any colored in block with your forwarding partners calls in them click on each box until it changes to no color.? Then click Save.? (Not Save Message)? No color is not queued.? Yellow is queued to that BBS.? Green is has been forwarded to that BBS.
?
If they were Killed they should have been removed from all queues, but stranger things have happened.
?
In Webmail, All Types, look for messages with status xN or x$.? (x could be P, B, or T)?? Those are the ones that should be queued to some BBS.? Maybe you have one or more of those?

Re: Changing IF Filter during forwarding connect script
Thanks John, that did it.

What surprises me is that I have been getting info from Glenn who also uses a 7300 and his seems to work with,
RADIO 7.100 USB D 2

Go figure....

Thanks Ken, that would have been an eventual solution.

Re: Changing IF Filter during forwarding connect script
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýFor scanning with the IC-7300 I use the memory channels in the rig, and the CHxx command.? I can use different filters in thememory settings of the radio if I need to.? Here is a forwarding script. ATTACH 6 PAUSE 5 RADIO CHan05 BW500 C N0MR-1 Chan05 (IC-7300 memory channel 5) has the frequency, mode, filter, etc. Not sure if this will help, let me know. 73, Ken W9GM On 2/23/2025 1:05 PM, John G8BPQ via

You should be able to include an RADIO line in the connect script to set the filter. ?
John, I have tried everything I know, and tried to follow others example, but no luck.
?
I am using Windows version 6.0.24.64
?
These scanlines work fine and change the filter.

When a forwading interval is reached the filter used is the one that is in use at the time the scan was interrupted. Therefore I could have either filter used for the connection.
?
This is a sample of a connect script in the forwarding record.
?
TIMES 0000-0159
ATTACH 5 PAUSE 3 RADIO 14.1065 D 2 BW500 PAUSE 3 C KD4WLE-3 ?
This results in an error in the BBS log, "Sorry - Invalid Mode"
?
250223 16:50:08 <KD4WLE ? ?*** CONNECTED?
250223 16:50:08 >KD4WLE ? ?ATTACH 5 250223 16:50:08 <KD4WLE ? ?MONTTX:N5MDT-13} Ok 250223 16:50:08 ?KD4WLE ? ?Script PAUSE 3 250223 16:50:11 <KD4WLE ? ?Pause Ok 250223 16:50:11 >KD4WLE ? ?RADIO 14.1065 D 2 250223 16:50:11 <KD4WLE ? ?Sorry - Invalid Mode 250223 16:50:11 |KD4WLE ? ?KD4WLE Disconnected ?
?
I then changed the Radio line to RADIO 14.1065 USB D 2
The port would remain in a state of In Use by N5MDT-4 forever with no error logged.
?
On a terminal attached to the port RADIO 14.1065 USB D 2 results in a error Failed to set mode.
Entering RADIO 14.1065 USB does take the radio out of digital mode.
Entering RADIO 14.1065 USB D does not put it into digital mode.
?
So, what is the correct RADIO statement to set the frequency, USB, Digital, and filter 2?
?
?
The CAT command to set the mode and filter is in several places. These are the most likely.
Set data and filter:? 1A 06 01 xx???? Command is 1A 06.? Data is 01.? Filter is xx?? (01-03)
Set mode, data, filter:? 1A 26 00 01 01 xx ????? Command is 1A 26.? Selected VFO is 00. USB is 01. The Data on is 01 and filter is xx? (01-03)
?
?
Any help appreciated.

Hi, Jim: Valid range values are, at least, 300 to 9999, as I have used them without seeing a failure. I have 'Send new messages without waiting for poll timer' enabled so, I assume that may initiate staggered start forwarding times. What values of Enable Forwarding and Request Reverse delay minutes are used when RF forwarding? It depends. It depends on band and propagation and channel occupancy. I feel that it is common to set repeat Enable Forwarding RF connections times to 1 hour. I do not recommend enabling a Request Reverse on a popular or active or congested RF channel. In one instance, I see only 5 other BBSs on a 40 meter channel. I do not see any other automatically controlled digital stations in this waterfall bandpass. On an unpopular inactive non-congested channel and because NVIS connection start and end times on 40 meters vary seasonally, I use the Request Reverse field with 2 HF neighbors and adjust the TIMES to start ~1 hour before the last successful connection times and 1 hour after the last. I hear 5 other BBSs on this 40 meter mode, so I feel that I am not generating significant channel contention. 73, Chuck |

First off, let me say thanks for writing such a great piece of software! The more I learn, the more I like BPQ32. My APRS system is working great now. I will take your advice and switch to QtSoundModem. Thanks also to Jeff, Mark, and John W6JMK for taking the time to help me out. I really appreciate it! 73, Alan, N8WQ On 2/21/25 12:08, John G8BPQ via groups.io wrote:

Maybe this will work....
The port is a valid port but does not do anything. It will still look for aprs packets on this port but will not send anything to it or to APRSIS
You could try commenting out some lines one at a time to see if you get any errors.

Re: RF forwarding times
I would not normally check Request Reverse any time as it increases traffic.? If the other station does not have a forwarding record to you then that might be a time to use that.?? I believe that any time you conect messages will be both sent and received.
?
I connect no more frequently than once per hour.? And, I stagger those times by 10 minutes for each RF connection. Even that may be cutting it close if you have slow connections or ultiple ELSE clauses.
?
I do not know min or max values for those fields.
