BPQ beacon with FEC pactor. #bbs #bpqconfig

Hello group,?
Is there a way to make a beacon broadcast possible in FEC for advertising a PACTOR connect in BPQ??

Something thought me to first search for a similar topic but couldn't find one. ;-)

Could you send me a copy of the form so I can try it here to see what is going wrong?

Re: How to install QtTerm on Ubuntu 24.04

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Yes, that does assume knowledge of Qt development.

I started with a new install? of Linux Mint 22 and had to run

sudo apt install git libqt5serialport5-dev qtmultimedia5-dev
?git clone
cd QtTermTCP
qmake
make

I'll update the documentation.

Re: How to install QtTerm on Ubuntu 24.04

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Hello Kevin,

I found John's instructions at to be quite useful. Regardless if you are unfamiliar with linux and manual compiles it is typically not necessary to compile from source. Simply download the appropriate executable from John's repository at .

There I see x86 32bit QtTermTCP and x64 64bit QtTermTCP64 both at recent version 0.0.0.78 which should work on Ubuntu AMD / Intel based systems.

No package type install needed. Just place the binary in a subdirectory and launch it. Configuring options under the Setup tab will create and / or update the config file in the same subdirectory.

If you have reason to compile from source then there are a number of dev and other dependencies that must be installed prior to compiling.

It should now discard any record with an address longer than 6. This was recently fixed (in version 6.0.24.56).

There is noting in the log. Of the 5-6 stations 2 of them start around 1100, the rest nothing.

Even the Vara log shows nothing from 0300 until 1100 except for one incoming connection that was successful.

Still looking.? I am thinking a port locks up, but the BPQ BBS log normally show when a port is in use and the forwarding fails so I am still looking...

Re: Adding port number in BBS log

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Yes, interval timers start when the BBS starts and run at the same interval even if incoming connects are made. So if you start at 0615 and have 3600 seconds it should try at? 0715, 0815 etc. It won't try if the BBS is already connected but otherwise you should always see the connect attempt in the BBS log even if, for instance, the port is in use or you are outside all TIMES blocks so the connect immediately fails. Is there nothing at all in the BBS log when the connect should take place?

Although I have interval times set randomly between 3600-4200 on my HF ports I have 5 hours of no connection attempts from 0600 to 1100 (UTC) and cannot figure out why. All works normal on the AXIP ports.
It is a Windows 10 machine that reboots at 0530 utc and start mail at 0615.
I use 0000-2359 in most of the Times boxes, and Times xxxx-yyyy in the scripts. All scripts have multiple times blocks in them.
?
I am assuming Interval timers start upon start of BPQMail. Do they reset any other time than a connect attempt? Do they reset anytime a forwarding record is changed, or upon incoming connection from that station?? Or any other time?

Yes, please.? Trying to diagnose this...

Anything wrong obvious to you?

Re: Multiple Port APRS Digi different WIDE configuration

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

APRSPATH defines the path set in outgoing messages, I doesn't affect what is digipeated.

DIGICALLS define which packets you digipeat but this is system-wide. You can't set it by port.

I was in the impression this would work with this configuration but I am seeing port 4 digipeat beyond WIDE1-1 like port 2:

APRSDIGI
?APRSCALL=NP4JN-11
?APRSPATH 4=APRS,WIDE1-1
?APRSPATH 2=APRS,WIDE1-1,WIDE2-1
?
?BEACONTOIS=1
?DIGICALLS=WIDE1-1,WIDE2-1
?DIGIMAP 4=IS,4
?DIGIMAP 2=2,IS,4
?
?GATEDPATH 4=WIDE1-1,WIDE2-1;
?GATEDPATH 2=WIDE1-1;
?
?ReplaceDigiCalls ??
?
?MaxTraceHops=2 ; Max value of n in CALLN-n processing. If a packet is received with n greater than
?MaxFloodHops=2 ; this, the value will be replaced BEFORE it is decremented.
?
?
I would like to achieve the following Digipeating (GATEDPATH from IS to RF is fine):
?
PORT 2 WIDE1-1,WIDE2-1;
PORT 4 WIDE1-1;
?
Thanks

Re: Adding port number in BBS log

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

For incoming connects the port should already be logged. I see this:

?Incoming Connect from GB7BPQ on Port 6 Freq 7050950 Mode ARDOP 500.

Are you asking for this info on outward connects as well?

John, is there a way to add the port number from which a connection is made in the BBS log? If I had the ability to extract by port number it would help diagnose some things.? For example, I would like to see the log for all my Vara connections, i.e. Port 5 and not all the AXIP port connections.? So, just having the port number in there we can extract what we need through grep or whatever.

Thanks

Re: BBS Error not connecting on all our linbpq nodes with latest 2 versions.

This is occurring using RF only not telnet.
?
We are calling the node first it will respond but when we issue a command like "?" or "BBS" it would disconnect.
?
We are also call the BBS directly by its Call Sign or Alias same result it would just disconnect.
?
We are trying direct connect C call.
?
The following traffic was originated where I connected to a node via IP telnet then from the node issued C 2 !WP4QNQ-11 to the BBS:
