Re: BPQ and What Modem?
For packet, I only use Kantronics hardware TNC's.?? For soundcard modes like Vara, Ardop, etc. I use Signalinks.? They seem to me to better withstand wayward RF in the shack due to all the cables etc. carrying a variety of signals. Power, RF, Data.? Previous poster is correct in that the original Signalinks could not carry the higher speed sound of high speed Vara, but does the lower speed Vara quite well.? You cannot purchase the old units from Tigertronics, but beware of used Signalinks. The only difference is the PCB and color of the transformers inside.
?
Software TNC's like Direwolf, and UZ7HO work well when adjusted properly. Many just cannot seem to get them adjusted properly to connect to hardware TNC's. Most do not have the proper equipment to adjust deviation, etc.
?
Those sofware programs use sound cards like those in your computer, and external sound cards like Signalinks, DRA's, Digirigs, and others to create the necessary tones sent over RF.? Some of those have separate volume controls from your computer sound controls, creating a series of volume controls to adjust. Some don't.
?
After all these years I found the Signalinks to be easier to setup and adjust and Tigertronics has better documentation and technical information for setup and to operate them properly.
?
Others have different opinions. These are just my experiences.? I recently bought a Digirig to assist a fellow ham.? Didn't care for it and ended up gifting it to him.

Re: BPQ and What Modem?
that combination will work just fine.
the only caveat is the signal link audio transformers.
?
i have no experience with signalinks past the sl1 but i'm sure you're aware of the 'newer' transformers being better suited to 'wider bandwith' audio.
?
no issues of course with 1200baud
?
the digirig is a fine package and my 'goto'
the dra, depending on the model, has more 'on board' audio level adjustment.
either has xtra wide audio bandwidth and will correctly pass whatever you need.
?
in my working with the digirig, i've not come across a radio that hasn't found a 'sweet spot' in audio level.
so extra audio level control hasn't been an issue so far.
?
my homebrew 'allstar link' fobs perform very well but you can tell the difference on any 'digital modes' software waterfall.
:)
?
good luck

Hey Chris... Yea...I've been playing with the UZ7oh software as well on another SignalLink that I have...thanks for the input? John KD6CLO On Wed, Oct 9, 2024 at 5:31?PM Chris Curtis via <kb0wlf=[email protected]> wrote:

none of these are modems though.
?
:)
?
they are just soundcards with ptt capability.
?
you'll need a software modem to use any soundcard for packet.
i use uz7ho personally but there are other software options.

BPQ and What Modem?
Hello Everyone...
I was curious to see what modems are being used for your nodes. I am looking at the DigiRig Sound modems but am also looking at the SignalLink Sound modems as well. I'm looking to bring up three different links with my station, two on 1200 baud and one on 9600. I've seen a bunch of people talk about the DRA modems as well but wanted to see what others are using for their nodes.

Re: Linbpq, Winlink Express, and Kenwood D710 won't connect
Thanks for the input. This has been kind of a rush project. I had trouble with a KPC 3+ also, but that was at our EOC and resolved with disipeatin. I'll start with MAXFRAMES and see what happens. I had suspected KISS? but didn't have time to experiment. The rush is over so I have time to rationaley troubleshoot.

Re: Vara & BPQ
开云体育When a station receives Nodes from a new station (not in it's list) it tries to connect to it and if that fails it removes the entries as they are not reachable. As far as I know it won't be able to connect as VARA won't? pass the SABM frame.73, John On 08/10/2024 19:18, N3MEL - Glenn

开云体育Last time I tried VARA KISS could only send UI frames so couldn't be used for connections but I haven't tried it for a while.73, John On 08/10/2024 15:30, N3MEL - Glenn

Re: Vara & BPQ
I have created a additional KISS port in BPQ and started the KISS port in VARA HF modem, VARA is broadcasting
my nodes list which I am only sending my nodes while testing.?
?
So far I am not seeing Route for the port showing up on my partners, but I suspect it would have to because
we are not connected.
?
What would interesting if we could initiate a VARA Netrom connect to a partner like every hour, the stations
could confirm each other and disconnect. The Route table would hold the connect route for some period of?
like it does now.?
?
BUT, The connect would have to come from the VARA HF port and not the KISS port since VARA will not connect
using its KISS mode!??
?
In our HF Forwarding Network it would be handy to have Netrom paths available? over VARA.

Re: Modernizing the HTML control panel
I did reply to this earlier, but it seems to have vanished!

The response should automatically get parsed into an object, but I've added an extra check to make sure that happens.

Please replace js/api-client.js with the attached file, and let me know if you still get an error. |
pop stop working.
Any one else use POP on BPQ? mine stop working since the upgrade to 6.0.24.42, now running 6.0.24.45 and same thing. I am running g BPQ32 on windows.
Not sure if the problem is at my end ou BPQ. Re: Linbpq, Winlink Express, and Kenwood D710 won't connect
AFIK, one must switch a 700 or 710's teeny TNC to KISS, if the radio has been powered down.?? For example, w/ Putty:? Serial, Serial line (COMX), KISS ON, Restart. Pretty sure same is true for D7, D72, etc. Kenwoods. Jer K4WOF

开云体育I think your code to send the token is faulty. I see this:Authorization: Bearer [object Object] I've changed the server code to send the CORS headers. If you let me know what platform you are using I'll send you a binary. 73, John On 06/10/2024 19:38, Rik M7GMT wrote:

Re: New Versions
I do not see the new BPQ32 or BPQMail, only BPQ32.dll dated 10/06 in the beta folder. The most recent files beyond that are dated 08/27. Am I looking in the wrong place?? Best regards, Gary, K7EK
