I don't think so.? It will just take a while for the change to be reflected on APRS.? I don't know what their update timers are.

Thanks, Mark. I found the old grid square in the WL2KREPORT section of the bpq32.cfg file. I changed it to our new gridsqare but the node is still showing up with updated time stamps on ?with the old position. It is correct on , however. Could it be set somewhere else too?

Is there an issue with the online BPQ Network Map? The site loads but there are no stations.?

Updating position in config

 

We are moving our club BPQ packet station to a new site. I tried updating the LOCATOR to the new grid square and I changed the BTEXT to the new lat/long but I can't seem to get the location to update on aprs.fi (via winlink). Any suggestions? Where does winlink get the position report?

Yes, there is also a port specific beacon, set in the ports section of the web management interface and stored in UIUtil.cfg

I thought i was crazy when sysops were telling me they couldnt see me or that i kept dropping them, when all of mine clearly showed node tp node connections.?
once things work i leave them alone. untill i need to fix them again, part of the game i guess.?

John, can you check the code for "Send P Msgs to more than one BBS " and be sure it works as intended.

Gary, K7EK, and I sent several messages back and forth today to confirm what was happening, and this is it.

I have Send P Msgs to more than one BBS checked.
Gary and I are AXUDP linked and forwarding partners.
Gary and I are both on the latest beta, 6.0.24.42

Gary sent a personal message to me addressed to n5mdt -at- n5mdt.#stx.tx.usa.noam
My bbs received the message, forwarded it to all my forwarding partners that are also
in #stx.tx.usa.noam then changed the status to PF
?
I would think that if the message was received at the recipients HomeBBS then the
forwarding should end, and the status changed to PN.? (This is what happens without
that option checked.)

Gary sent another message to someone else in #stx.tx.usa.noam and my BBS properly
forward the message to all of my forwarding partners also in #stx.tx.usa.noam and
marked the status PF.

One thing I also noticed is the when the Send P Msgs to more than one BBS? was checked
and I replied to one of his messages my BBS would not send it back to him directly, but
would send it a different route even though I have his call in the TO field of his forwarding
record.?? But, that may be Net/Rom causing that.? I have not yet sent enough messages
to diagnose that..? With Send P Msgs to more than one BBS is unchecked then messages
are sent directly to Gary.

Just Updated correctly to 6.0.24.42 YOU ARE CORRECT MARK SOMEONE ONE HAD TOLD ME TO REMOVE BROADCAST NODES A FEW MONTHS AGO while we looked for something. it has since been replaced. WIerd however many of my nodes were still broadcasting with only

Im showing you K7EK in Links, Routes, Nodes as a Node to Node etc. Has been a very stable connection here.

To make matters worse I just found the correct 6.0.24.42 update file dated 8-27-24 and installed it and update mail.exe and chat.exe so i have same versions of all 6.0.24.42 and everything is working fine and you are still node to node connection here.?

When I first added support for forms I used the name with a space but the Winlink download uses the underscore so to avoid confusion I accept both. Maybe it would be sensible only to give an error message if neither can be found.

Hi Garth,

Yes, it is Linux and it is the real directory name including the underscore as needed and as I already said, everything is fine and working.
That so called 'error' maybe confusing during setup regarding the underscore in those names. That is why I wanted to report this.

If your forms are in /usr/local/hamradio/bpq/Standard_Templates you are running linux or something similar. At startup apparently the bpq program looks for both the 'Standard_Templates' and 'Standard Templates' directories and uses which ever it finds. And apparently places a message in the log is it cant find either (or both) of the forms directories.? In linux, only Standard_Templates will work, (the space will break the file name unless you quote the file name).

In my pilinbpq logs, I get the message that 'Standard Templates'? (no under score) cant be found (or something like that).? My forms are in the "Standard_Templates" (note underscore) and form operations all work just fine. I have treated this as an anomaly/amusement that doesn't cause any problems. The message is probably due to the way that John checks for the form directory/directories.
