The maximum number is 99999. If you ever get that many I suspect the
BBS will stop, as it will be unable to create new messages.
Although in theory you can keep bids for ever, that will also cause
problems with duplicates when the message number wraps back to 1,
even if you don't ever have more that 99999 messages at once.

day. So in a year there will be more than 10,000.? But the max
message number is 10,000.? Does the message number just start
over? What will happen to the duplicate message numbers?
