Ralph, First if the existing top is only 1" thick an additional thicker top is in order. Then I was thinking along the lines of something like threaded rod attached to "T" nuts on the bottom side or elevator bolts. Either one counter sunk on the bottom side and maybe even epoxied in place ( to minimize twisting or falling out) and pre aligned with you lathe feet / motor mount locations. And long enough to make it through your lathe feet with room to spare for adjustments. I can't tell for sure from the picture but it looks like there is a thick metal flange that runs around the top of the tool box and the wood top is under that edge. If it is thick enough to drill and thread that metal possibly run some 1/4 20 countersunk head machine screws down from the new top into it. If not maybe use C/S head sheet metal screws into the existing wood top. If you install a drip pan put some RVT or similar sealer around the holes to seal them. Hope that make sense, Ken H in AZ |

From a young whippersnapper : )
I believe they are referred to as: "SB-SBS | SAE841 spherical sintered bronze bearings with oil-impregnated" or " Sintered bronze A50 spherical bushing" . Couldn't find anything that was not from china and all metric.? Also availialbe with a collar on one or both ends.? If you google it be sure to put "spherical bushing" in parenthesis. One option is to buy 5/8" bronze bearing stock and make your own. Allow some stick out to avoid compressing the stock. Ken H in AZ |

开云体育Jim,Not the same thing as the ferrule you are referring to.? The one you are talking about is solid brass and used in a compression fitting.? These are sintered bronze and used as bearings in small electric motors.? They are porous so oil can soak into them to lubricate the shaft. Bruce -------- Original Message --------
