He had a video testing inserts and the video identifies the insert you are referring to. Maybe within the last two years

Re: Bull gear pin

If this is the Atlas 10-256 bull gear pin, there's a drawing in files. I've attached a copy to this message. It is for the 10F lathes, but the file info says for all 10 & 12 inch lathes. And I looked at the photo on the ebay part, and it looks like the part in the drawing. A Unimat should be able to do the job.? ?: )?

Thanks guys, Found one on Ebay. I just think $45. + $15. for shipping is a bit pricey. Guess I'll have to make one.

Hi folks, I went to use my Atlas/Craftsman 12" lathe yesterday and found out something was wrong rather quickly. The bull gear pin kept coming out of the now missing detent. I'd like to purchase a new pin or make one if I can find the dimensions. I have a unimat lathe also.
?Can anybody help this so cal gal, please?

have not found mention of what insert he's using on any of his projects? .

If you’re looking for a very durable finish, try powder coating.?

Re: Atlas 10” lathe

Thanks Kevin, it’s nice to get another opinion. Going to list it and see what happens.?

Re: Atlas 10” lathe

?
--Hi William, I'm maybe 75 miles east of the Falls, around Rochester NY.? There's one listed in the area right now for $1250.?
?
I routinely search Craigslist in a 100 mile radius of Rochester (Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse) and the prices are in the range Will gave, $US. Also dependent on what tooling is included.? The one I shared has a fair amount of tooling., ie the milling attachment alone, to the right person, might sell for $100-$200 on it's own.? On CL if the price is a super deal, it's gone with in hours, OK deal maybe a few days, a little high it sits for awhile.? This one has been listed for about a month.?

?I bought a lathe nearly identical to that one (model TH54, Timken spindle bearings, Horizontal countershaft, 54" bed. The model number is on the tailstock end of the bed), about a year and a half ago from near Peterborough, ON. I got a decent selection of accessories with it (change gears, steady rest, a couple small boxes of HSS tooling, spindle and tailstock Jacobs's chuck, wood turning tool rest, lantern tool holders and tool post, 4 jaw chuck, dead centers, some boring bars, and wood turning chisels) for $600 CAD. That was a particularly good deal though.

In Ontario, it seems pretty common for 10" Atlas lathes listed for $1000-$1200, so I'd think that probably sell for $800-$1000 without having to sit on it too long. If you're willing to wait longer and depending on the accessories, you might be able to get more.
