If I win the lottery, I want to visit the UK and get copies of all the model engineering books and magazines... :) Then buy a mall, and turn it into a maker space back here.? Are you talking about the roller bearings that are by the two grease cups? If so, when I rebuilt my Atlas I found out to my surprise that they are the same bearings that the Ford model T used in the transmission.? ? They still sell them…see Lang's Old Car Parts at: ? ? ?

With a little help you should be able to build a new countershaft. Which, of course, would be easier if you have access to a second lathe. I get the impression that model engineers are pretty common there, though that could just be my selection of reading material... Would it be reasonable to ask of local acquaintances if someone? could make a new modified countershaft for you? Or are you the only person you know with a lathe?? Bill in OKC? William R. @Nelson... I have watched all of joe's videos on his restoration they have come in handy when im putting stuff back together. and how things should look.? However my shaft is hardened so cant really be turned down easily.? Also it has the threads on the ends for the grease cups where as his had grease nipples.?

That's why I suggested OP call Clausing. They will know what the OEM part numbers are. Though since he lives in the UK, Tony might know at lathes.co.uk there have been a couple of authorized copies. I wouldn't be surprised to find the correct bearings are obsolete. But there should be cross-reference charts that will help you find the the new versions.??
