Steve, you don't need a 3/4HP motor, but you do need a reversible motor. My TH42 has a 1/2HP motor from the factory, and it will probably be cheaper to find a 1/2HP & reversible motor. If you have 220

I think I based my view on a 3/4hp because of the later "Commercial" variants used a 3/4hp. If 1/2hp would be fine, I will go with 1/2hp. Steve
