Assemble & Make Function OR Part Out?
Hi everyone,
I have replied to others posts but never(?) posted a project of my own. I accumulated a Craftsman 6" a few years ago. Not running, and missing some parts. I disassembled much of it, but

Re: Atlas 10 TV36 4 step Drive Pulley
Steve,
I had a look at your webpage and instagram. Beautiful work. I especially
like those gates shown on your page, and the prize winning scale on insta.
Bravo,

Re: Atlas 10 TV36 4 step Drive Pulley
Hey Mike
Didn't even cross my mind that a work around could be single pulleys of the required sizes just screwed together.
I'll take a look at the YT link as well.
Genius, thank you!

Re: Atlas 10 TV36 4 step Drive Pulley
Pulleys are a real good first project . Ya can make then one at a time & just hold them next to each other with the set screws on the shaft

Re: Atlas 10 TV36 4 step Drive Pulley
Thanks for having a search, Bill.
Shipping from the US to UK can be, interesting. Might be cheaper to find someone who could produce the pulley for me.
Definitely out of my skill range at this point

Re: Atlas 10 TV36 4 step Drive Pulley
Hey Brian
That's what I thought as well. The pulley does move but the belt is far too tight and won't lock if it is at any other position apart from the one shown in the picture.
A 3 or 4 step would

Re: Atlas 10 TV36 4 step Drive Pulley
Hi Mike
It's a single phase AC 550w motor RPM 1425
My workshop is only single phase, and I've never had the pleasure of having a motor with a VFD to understand how those things work.
Thanks

Re: Atlas 10 TV36 4 step Drive Pulley
Hi Jim
I will see what I can source from ebay, now that I know what I am looking for.
I got a few bits of tooling but no literature about the lathe from the previous owner.
Thanks for the reply!

Re: Atlas 10 TV36 4 step Drive Pulley
IIRC, the Acorn is a copy of the Atlas lathes. You might be able to get the correct pulley, which as another poster has said, is a 10-80. I didn't find any on ebay.co.uk, but there are a couple in the

Re: Atlas 10 TV36 4 step Drive Pulley
You need the Atlas 10-80 countershaft pulley.
This is used on all 10¡± and 12¡± lathes from Atlas or Craftsman.

Re: Atlas 10 TV36 4 step Drive Pulley
I will look in my lathe file and see if I have the 10F parts catalog, then I can send you the part number you need.
Do you have any literature for your new toy?

Re: Atlas 10 TV36 4 step Drive Pulley
Are you 3 phase ? What is the motor voltage ? If it's a 3 phase motor I'd look into putting a VFD on it , that gives ya variable speed at the twist of a knob . There's also the tread mill motor rout &

Re: Atlas 10 TV36 4 step Drive Pulley
Yes, unless there is enough adjustment in the countershaft to allow sliding the drive pulley to the next pulley size then maybe there should be a 3 size pulley on the countershaft, no?
