Your shims are not thick enough. I may be mistaken but I think those shims are in five layer packs, .002" per layer, similar to the shims with the bearing plates under the carriage on Atlas built

I have a couple of concerns about the reassembly of my mill.? If I tighten the 3 bolts (on a side) that hold the MI-41 plates that clamp the knee to the mill body when tightened, the knee will not?

Given my latest post in response to animal's question, I probably will not try to fix it. What I would have tried was figuring out a way to drill holes in each of the broken parts to insert a pin.?

I think you make a good observation and point, at least as far as something as small as the Atlas 618 sized handles.? The one on my MK2 has one broken handle and it is easy to turn without that other
