They are in the same class of tool, the tangential tool holder but they are totally different. Different bit geometry and design. Neither one is better in my 6 years of experience of using both. In

I would not recommend a indicator in the front of the carriage do to all the swarf a carriage stop is ok. The holding bracket going across the bed is totally a no the amount of travel of the carriage
