Looking forward to seeing everyone this week.
I'm going to be trying a new protocol for the lunch - I'll get there early, make some arrangements, and collect money at the table (suggested $10) to pay for lunch. That will leave a little extra for a tip, and it will help me see just what kind of tab we actually do ring up all together. One time only test, if it works out we can adjust etc. Please also do bring some kind of business card or something with you for me to collect - I'm sometimes not able to accurately remember everyone at the table and there are some new faces who i'm not convinced are always on the mailing list. thansk Ed On 21 Jun 2006 16:55:17 -0000, a2b3@... <a2b3@...> wrote: Copyright (c) 2006 Yahoo! Re: bi bim bop locations in town
Ed,
The list looks good. If I recall correctly, there is also a sub shop near Mr. Spots on State Street that also serves bibimbop. I can't recall the name though - perhaps someone else knows. Sam --- In a2b3@..., Edward Vielmetti <edward.vielmetti@...> wrote:

lunch non-summary 6/8
Thanks to everyone who showed up. I got there
late, and sat only at one end of the table, so this is about a quarter of a summary of topics (and I won't even try to be complete) - Ed talking about RSS this afternoon at the School of Information, 3pm - layoffs at Borders, 90 people - golf community - YouTube videos and the "long tail" - valuations for community sites at 1m users, $6-$20/user? - teaching the SAT online - Eastern Accents as a Thursday tech nexus - more beautiful origami and afterwards, I understand that Al Gore's movie is going to be at the Michigan Theater tomorrow. (If anyone has a list of everyone who was at the table, please send to the list - thanks!) Ed |

non-agenda for lunch 6/1
here isn't an agenda for what will be lunch
at Eastern Accents on 6/1 - whatever will be talked about will be talked about. but it is a kind of running log of some things that have crossed my mind over the past week.... the virtue of cafes without wireless access, or with pay-only wireless that's too dear the price of gas - the non-virtue of ice cream stores without shade, and parking lots full of cars adding sidenotes to text in your blog - e.g. online environments to motivate individual exercise, e.g. for pedometer users blogging for dollars, or blogging to make sense? a report from the IT Zone the distance between academics, students, and the world, and what to do to bridge those gaps twisting google calendar into a task management system how to remember what you've been up to without obsessing over every detail looking forward to seeing some friends tomorrow! thanks Ed |
