Re: drum kit differences and workflow advice
it's fun listening to those midifile collections :-) had some of the better ones as ringtones at one point. yes that's it: load an SMF into Song mode, and 'get phrase'/'put phrase'. or else slave QY

Re: drum kit differences and workflow advice
Oh nice, I didn't think of looking for a MIDI. I think I might just use it as reference and "transcribe" it into the QY as an exercise.?Looks like I may get this done in time for my group singing

Re: drum kit differences and workflow advice
Some SMFs can take up a lot of memory? I often import the entire SMF from a Smart Media Card whilst in Song ModeThen change to pattern mode and extract the main parts (Intro/Verse/Chorus) from the

Re: drum kit differences and workflow advice
I never imported SMF into the QY100. (in the QY700 it is built in functionality) I think your fastest route is just record the tracks from the sequencer.

You know ¡°Mad World¡± is from 1982, right? ;) That¡¯s 41 years ago!

Re: drum kit differences and workflow advice
Excellent! It¡¯s 2023 and the QY100 is doing Mad World. I don¡¯t feel quite so old.

Re: drum kit differences and workflow advice
Thanks everyone - I found the Data List and printed it out and the differences are very well documented. That's why I deleted my initial post, but I guess it made it through. Last night I cut up the

Re: drum kit differences and workflow advice
Yeah. The CR-78 is hard to re-create even if you have good samples because the ¡°latin¡± sounds are triggered by the internal clock. I would take the electronic percussion kit and add effects. The

Re: drum kit differences and workflow advice
sounds like there's only one potential cr78 sound, a kind of claves. there's a kind of pitched bamboo sound with it, and the rest are pretty regular accoustic

Re: drum kit differences and workflow advice
Hi Bill, I don¡¯t know if this helps but there¡¯s a QY100 List Book that lists all of the instruments and hopefully the drum kit by influence. If it¡¯s not in the file section of the group then

Re: Modern backlit LCD?
To use a modern display you would need to add a microprocessor to decode the proprietary Optrex protocol and then drive your lcd or pled display with a modern library. Optrex displays are so expensive

Modern backlit LCD?
Anyone attempted the modern backlit LCD mod? Seems it would be a better solution than using the light overlay discussed here. But probably a lot more expensive. Seen in this YouTube

Re: Card Reader Recommendation?
The software is really just an option vs. removing the card (or rather for users that don¡¯t own a card). I don¡¯t think i¡¯s going to give you new features, it was just an alternative to copying

Re: Card Reader Recommendation?
Thank you for the tip! I downloaded and installed the software for the QY100 along with the drivers. I have the files on my computer, but it looks like the software wants to read the data from the

Re: Card Reader Recommendation?
Hi again, Just wanted to also mention that in the files section of this group there is an installable program called Filer for the QY100. The program basically allows you to backup/transfer files

Re: Card Reader Recommendation?
You can export them using the menu to a SMF (simple midi file). Beyond that there is no current way to convert the *.QY files externally as far as I know. ["The longest journey starts with the

Re: Card Reader Recommendation?
Thanks for the info. I picked up a card ready and was able to successfully back up our files. The next task is to see about converting them into actual MIDI files!
