Well, anyone who knows ANY device inside and out has read the manuals. 200 is not much, and it’s well written! I did even study the midi implementation, which is way better than the QY700.

That's all really good advice. The only thing I'll add is that there is some important differences between using Song Mode and Pattern Mode depending on your use case. Song Mode has more MIDI

those are not your midi settings. your nanokontrol - is it mk2? - has 2 modes: DAW and MIDI CC. checked the manual for you https://www.korg.com/us/support/download/manual/0/159/1912/ and it isn't
