Re: TX802 - How do I save voice edits, from the front panel?
Thanks for starting that off, Daniel.? I expect it will take me a while to read what's there already, so no rush on my account :)
I found a Ctrlr panel for the TX802.? Actually, I found it a while

Re: TX802 - How do I save voice edits, from the front panel?
It was my idea to scan them few years ago, and publish it with approval from Yamaha, so I’m glad this project was successful. We did it together with another member Rawl. Recently only one or two

Re: TX802 - How do I save voice edits, from the front panel?
It's in the TX802-SYSEX.pdf document, somewhere in the Files section.
Look under:
1. Parameter Change
1.7 Remote Switch Parameter Change
and
Table? 4 - Remote Switch Parameter Change

Re: TX802 - How do I save voice edits, from the front panel?
That's been possible since the original DX7 but I've never seen it documented except for 3rd party web pages. Is this more common knowledge than I thought?

Re: TX802 - How do I save voice edits, from the front panel?
Yep.? Thanks again, Bruce.? I couldn't see any way past that problem.? It was really bothering me.
I'm now trying to rethink the ergonomics of using it.? I'd planned to just put it on a shelf,

Re: TX802 - How do I save voice edits, from the front panel?
Good point, Daniel.? I was just thinking maybe I should read the DX7 II D manual, but I'd forgotten about the booklets.? I saved them when I saw them on the Yamahamusicians forum, but I'd forgotten

Re: TX802 - How do I save voice edits, from the front panel?
Hi Andy,
HTH.? To be fair, it was confusing the first time I tried to edit a voice, too. '80s Yamaha manuals are among the worst I've ever seen!

Re: TX802 - How do I save voice edits, from the front panel?
Somehow Yamaha expected that this expander would be used by experienced owner’s of DX7 II D, but still it’s different. Even detailed MIDI implementation was missing in the manual, I remember my

Thanks, Bruce.
Yes, that works for me too? - now I know what to do.? I've been over and over that part of the manual, and it just doesn't explain how to save it, as far as I can see.? I've lost

Re: TX802 - How do I save voice edits, from the front panel?
Here's what I see on my two TX802s:
* Pressing Voice Select shows the voices used in the current Performance.
* Pressing Voice Edit I or II allows one to edit a voice.
* Afterwards, pressing Voice

TX802 - How do I save voice edits, from the front panel?
I just got a "new" TX802, and among other things decided to try tweaking patches from the front panel.
All was (sort of) going well, until I tried to save one, and of course lost my edits, first

Re: MIDI interface for old PowerBook?
Thanks for the heads up. I’ve only been using my no-name interface to transfer patches, so far without problems. But I’ll keep your info in mind.

Re: MIDI interface for old PowerBook?
A couple of things to be aware of:? The DX7 and other synths from that era predate the current MIDI spec and really want to have a 5V signal on the line.? The MOTU Fastlane (which I have) does this

Old musician, new to the group and yes, a new DX7 owner. I’m a Hammond Organ Company artist, play with several musicians/artists and still love it. I always wanted a DX7, found one and purchased it

Fair point.
It would be good to keep ROMs here though.? I can't really see Yamaha objecting, after all these years.? There are a couple here already, which were in the Yahoo group for quite a long

groups.io blocks the display of email addresses in messages - for spam prevention, I guess.
You could upload any ROM images to the Files section though.? There's already a DX7 folder, so maybe put
