Re: TX802 - How do I save voice edits, from the front panel?

Somehow Yamaha expected that this expander would be used by experienced owner’s of DX7 II D, but still it’s different. Even detailed MIDI implementation was missing in the manual, I remember my reverse engineering of Sysex control (successful, how I could after many years when finally I have found a printed copy in Yamaha Europe HQ during one of my visits there). And DX7 II D manual was also not too informative, so later they published all those Supplemental booklets.

Thanks, Bruce.

Yes, that works for me too - now I know what to do. I've been over and over that part of the manual, and it just doesn't explain how to save it, as far as I can see. I've lost every attempt at editing, before knowing to do that. It had taken on a bit of an unexploded bomb feeling.

I did find a bit about restoring the edit buffer, from the utility menu, but it didn't explain what would happen if I did - I fully expected to find myself back in the edit mode, still without any way to save it. I didn't want to try doing that, because I'd left it in edit mode, rather than lose another attempt at altering a patch.

Now I've got a TX802 in front of me, the manual seems lightweight and woefully inadequate. I've read manuals for other Yamaha FM synths I own, and never had that feeling before.
