Just bought a new Yaesu FT-950 and FC-40 Tuner. Previously, and still in the shack, is my ICOM IC-706MKIIG and AH-4 Tuner. That setup worked just fine. I just wanted a new transceiver. I stayed

Re: extending tuner control cables
Another option is to purchase two cables with a mini 8 DIN connector terminated with an RJ-45 connector. Just run some straight through CAT 5 cable between them to extend to the desired distance.

Re: extending tuner control cables
I was able to extend my cables with the W4RT pigtails and it worked great. I'm using them at home now on a permanent 43' vertical installation. One other source I found for the mini DIN connectors

Re: 148 ft wire testing
Try making the wire 145 foot, look at the AH-4 Graphical Length Wire Calculator in the Files Section here in this group. Doesn't matter if the tuner is Icom or Yaesu, you still have to avoid 1/2

I have a full 108" whip and the lowest band I can get is 30m. I have heard of other people leveraging a capacitance hat and getting down to 80m. $0.02, Jon w1jp
