Aha, so basically I hit smack in the midst of the next "bad" point,
277ft (84.4m) to 283ft (86.25m) - my landlord is advertising for
rent the place adjoining mine, and he's already given the ok for

Long Loop (80m) gives "high swr" warnings on several bands - why?
Hi folks, after moving to FINLAND where its very cold now, I put up a
longwire loop of approx 84 metres of wire. Its fed with 300-ohms
radioshack line.
The tuner WON'T tune this on the lower bands

Re: Hi SWR on 40 meters
Bob,
You could try two things:
1. Put about five turns of coax about 5 inches in diameter at the base of the antenna.
2. Put a few turns ( 10 X 1" ) of #14 gage wire at the base of the

Kyle, thanks for the response. I did play with it a little last
night and noticed that it does tune from 7.050 to 7.200 but any
higher will produce high SWR.... I will try adding the Ground to

Re: Hi SWR on 40 meters
The Ham Stick has inductance. Add a few turns of coil at the base of the antenna.
OR improve the bumper to chassis ground. or Both.
Make sure the tuner is close to the base of the antenna.

Hi SWR on 40 meters
Just installed the Ft-857D, FC-40, Hustler bumper strap mount and 102"
SS Whip in my truck. It works on all bands but 40 meters (high SWR) I
have tried extra lenght of coax added to the supplied coax.

Re: RF on control cable
If you can get the tuner grounded to a metal water pipe or try the AC ground.
My tuner is grounded with a 2 foot length of wire to one ground rod and then to the AC ground rod a few feet from

Re: Is this a silly idea??? FC-40 feeding an ATAS-25
Since the 25 is manual, I think the antenna has to be adjusted to the portion of the band you wish to work. I don't think your idea is very efficient. I use a 102 inch whip with all band tuning.

Any suggestions for removing RF on the control cable for the FC-40. I
was unable to get the tuner to tune a long wire except for 80 meters.
I installed dipoles for 40 through 15 meters. When I use

Is this a silly idea??? FC-40 feeding an ATAS-25
Hi folks, I'm new round here
I use an FT 897d and have recently come by an atas-25 (the manual
version of an atas 120)
I was wondering about feeding the atas-25 via the fc40 to avoid the

Anyone using both the AT-897 and the FC-40 together?
I am using both the LDG "AT-897" and my FC-40 with three antennas and
a control switch. Is anyone else doing the same?
The control cable for the AT-897 is connected to the back of my FT-
897D in the

Try not to spend so much money. Read the postings for the extension cable for $7.00 US dollars.
